Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Insane Clown Posse has made a career out of their ongoing Six Jokers Card Saga, a morality tale illustrating the perils of a sinful life. The capstone of this story was a set of the two albums, The Wraith: Shangri-La and The Wraith: Hell's Pit, each dealing with the benefits and pains of the afterlife. Along the way, ICP has had no small share of guest artists participating in this saga, bringing the talent of the industry's greatest artists to bear. The result has been nothing short of a phenomenon, earning ICP a legion of dedicated hardcore fans as well as 7 gold and 2 platinum albums. Now, to celebrate the final chapter of the Jokers Card Saga, the Insane Clown Posse has again put forth a challenge to the greatest musicians of the underground. Bringing in talent from all over the world, ICP proudly presents The Wraith: Remix Albums, a two-CD -set featuring featuring tracks from both The Wraith: Shangri-La and The Wraith: Hell's Pit! Each track has been remixed and remastered to bring a whole new take on the music while still preserving the message of each song. This two-CD-set features the talents of such underground musical powerhouses like the Filthee Immigrants, the Kottonmouth Kings, Martin Gross of the Howling Diablos, Wolf Pac, Mellow Man Ace, and DJ Clay. Songs have also been remixed by artists and producers from Insane Clown Posse's label, Psychopathic Records, featurnig Monoxide of Twiztid, Fritz the Cat, Kuma, and the underground legend Mike E. Clark, who's skill has been featured on many ICP albums throughout their career. The Wraith: Remix Albums is a culmination to a storyline that has spanned over a decade - a decade displaying the creative force of the largest underground music sensation that ever was. These two discs, brought to all from the musical perspective of the best of the underground, is a must for any collector of the Insane Clown Posse legacy and will definitely shine a new light on this undying saga for every fan, new and old.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Wraith stikes again!, November 14, 2006
i was surprised there aren't more juggalos out here reviewing this yet. Well, i guess that's how it goes when you dont' release an album in, oh, how long has it been?

anywho

this is a great set of remixes and it was also nice to see the wraith double album in one box. sorta makes sence to have the sixth as one physical piece. As for the tracks themselves they make up for any shortcomings of the originals. Where the sixth had some weak sections here or there, or a beat that seemed a little thin, these remixes really pick up the game. there are a few that don't quite seem like they were really paying attention when they made the beat (walk into the light is dark and industrial, and IN MY ROOM is a happy alt rock/accoustic thing) but overall it's pretty fresh. I especially love Tech Nine's beat on hells pit. Maybe he should produce a few more in the future.

now we just need them to release the f***ing tempest!

4.0 out of 5 stars been a while, March 15, 2007
it's been a while since i listened to the original shangri la album, but i still listen to hells pit. shangri la got a little cheesy over all, but i was happy when it first arrived that they finally completed their task of the 6 jokers cards.

that being said, these remix albums were a nice addition to the collection. although not all of the remixes are outstanding, neither were the originals so hearing a different version was nice. i think hell's pit got the better end of the stick on this one as well. i like the darker side and it just seemed that they tried to hard to be happy with wicked rhymes on shangri la. it really threw it off. first couple times around it was alright and i thought it good at the time, but they kind of got lame after a while. the remixes were just different

honestly, i would give each individual album 3 stars, but since they packaged them together, they get an extra one. that was probably the best thing they could have done. two full remix albums, about 95 minutes worth. even though some of the beats seem lazily thrown together, you can't really complain with this deal, as long as you feel the stuff ICP be rapping about. and if you don't then why you looking here? i'm pretty sure with the lack of response on this album that not many people know about it so only true juggalos really got their hands on it. just like the psychopathic rydas and dark lotus cds.

5.0 out of 5 stars The 6th Joker's Card: Reloaded, November 18, 2006
By James Walker (Norfolk, VA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I thought this album was the best from ICP in awhile because it is complete musical re-engineering of almost every track from The Wraith: Shangri-La and Hell's Pit. Almost every song doesn't sound like the original, which shows just how far Psychopathic went to put this together. But, they didn't do it alone. They had the mixing talents from underground icons, such as the Kottonmouth Kings, The Wolfpac, The FILTHEE Immigrants, Monoxide of Twiztid, Mike E. Clark, Kuma, DJ Clay, and Fritz the Cat to remake the music. I love most of the tracks, some I find are not even close to as good as the originals, but still a strong 2-CD album worth buying for any Juggalo ninja out there that may even feel skeptical about this album. I love this album!!! Wicked Clownz will never die, and this album shows that they won't!!! Juggalo 4 life!!!
