The Wraith stikes again!,
By Yaslmiri "Yas" (GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wraith: Remix Albums (Audio CD)
i was surprised there aren't more juggalos out here reviewing this yet. Well, i guess that's how it goes when you dont' release an album in, oh, how long has it been?
anywho this is a great set of remixes and it was also nice to see the wraith double album in one box. sorta makes sence to have the sixth as one physical piece. As for the tracks themselves they make up for any shortcomings of the originals. Where the sixth had some weak sections here or there, or a beat that seemed a little thin, these remixes really pick up the game. there are a few that don't quite seem like they were really paying attention when they made the beat (walk into the light is dark and industrial, and IN MY ROOM is a happy alt rock/accoustic thing) but overall it's pretty fresh. I especially love Tech Nine's beat on hells pit. Maybe he should produce a few more in the future. now we just need them to release the f***ing tempest!

it's been a while since i listened to the original shangri la album, but i still listen to hells pit. shangri la got a little cheesy over all, but i was happy when it first arrived that they finally completed their task of the 6 jokers cards.
that being said, these remix albums were a nice addition to the collection. although not all of the remixes are outstanding, neither were the originals so hearing a different version was nice. i think hell's pit got the better end of the stick on this one as well. i like the darker side and it just seemed that they tried to hard to be happy with wicked rhymes on shangri la. it really threw it off. first couple times around it was alright and i thought it good at the time, but they kind of got lame after a while. the remixes were just different honestly, i would give each individual album 3 stars, but since they packaged them together, they get an extra one. that was probably the best thing they could have done. two full remix albums, about 95 minutes worth. even though some of the beats seem lazily thrown together, you can't really complain with this deal, as long as you feel the stuff ICP be rapping about. and if you don't then why you looking here? i'm pretty sure with the lack of response on this album that not many people know about it so only true juggalos really got their hands on it. just like the psychopathic rydas and dark lotus cds.

The 6th Joker's Card: Reloaded,
By
This review is from: The Wraith: Remix Albums (Audio CD)
I thought this album was the best from ICP in awhile because it is complete musical re-engineering of almost every track from The Wraith: Shangri-La and Hell's Pit. Almost every song doesn't sound like the original, which shows just how far Psychopathic went to put this together. But, they didn't do it alone. They had the mixing talents from underground icons, such as the Kottonmouth Kings, The Wolfpac, The FILTHEE Immigrants, Monoxide of Twiztid, Mike E. Clark, Kuma, DJ Clay, and Fritz the Cat to remake the music. I love most of the tracks, some I find are not even close to as good as the originals, but still a strong 2-CD album worth buying for any Juggalo ninja out there that may even feel skeptical about this album. I love this album!!! Wicked Clownz will never die, and this album shows that they won't!!! Juggalo 4 life!!!

ICP used to be really funny,

I bought this album just to see what's up with ICP. When I was younger I enjoyed their music, but it's pretty ho-hum now.

First off, I wanted to say that I wasn't a big fan of ICP until recently. I mean, I had heard their music before and enjoyed it... but this was my first purchase. I bought this CD after my brother passed away. He just turned 21 a mere 8 days before he passed. It's only been a couple of months, and I think that buying this CD was a way to remember him and get into things that he enjoyed and to feel his presence. He has been listening to ICP since I can even remember. The song Crossing the Bridge really sounds how it feels right now without him and I can hear/see him singing all the songs in my head. I hope this review doesn't sound weak as I haven't even made it to the second CD Hell's Pit yet. I've been stuck on Shangri-La for over a week now and remembering my brother a true juggalo who will always be missed. He always said I was a juggalette and I know my other two brothers are down with the clown. It must be in the blood. Our mom used to listen to them too and rock out.

Insane Clown Posse - "The Wraith: Remix Albums" (3 stars),

After having mixed-emotions about the production on the 6th Joker's Card(s) ("The Wraith: Shangri-La" and "The Wraith: Hell's Pit") due to Mike Puwal of Zug Izland's somewhat off-beat and smiley-faced beats to something that should have been done more sinister (although I enjoy Mike Puwal's production on both albums) ICP announced that they were going to round up a gang or underground rap producers and let them take aim at the instrumentals.
Some of them work very well, some are kinda repetative, and some mood sets are WAY off of what the subject matter in the lyrics are based upon. And some suck. Alot of these remixes contain a useless amount of heavy guitars and it kinda throws me off, since I'm pretty much pro hip-hop. But regardless of where you stand in terms of this double-disc release, this is a good source of ways to get to know more producers in the underground. Personally, after hearing this, I want to hear more from the likes of Wolf Pac, Filthee Immigrants, Kuma and Fritz The Cat. As they all did extremely well with the production here. As for Mike E. Clark's production on here, he did a pretty decent job, not my top-choice production from him, his remixes on the "Hell's Pit" disc heavily outshine his remixes on the "Shangri-La" disc. But that's just me. Here's my individual track ratings. DISC 1 (Shangri-La) 01. "Walk Into Thy Light (Mike E. Clark Remix)" (B) 02. "Welcome To Thy Show (Kuma Remix)" (A-) 03. "Get Ya Wicked On (Wolf Pac Remix)" (B) 04. "Murder Rap (Filthee Immigrants Remix)" (A+) (favorite) 05. "Birthday B*t*hes (Kuma Remix)" (A) 06. "Blaaam!!! (Tino Gross Remix)" (B) 07. "It Rains Diamonds/B*t*h Slappaz (ft. Blaze Ya Dead Homie) (Kuma Remix)(A+) 08. "Thy Staleness (Fritz The Cat Remix)" (A+) 09. "Hell's Forecast (Mike E. Clark Remix)" (C) 10. "Juggalo Homies (ft. Twiztid) (Mike E. Clark Remix)" (B) 11. "We Belong (Kottonmouth Kings Remix)" (B) 12. "Cotton Candy & Popsicles (ft. Zug Izland) (Filthee Immigrants Remix)" (B+) 13. "Crossing Thy Bridge (Kuma Remix)" (D) (least favorite) 14. "Thy Raven's Mirror (Fritz The Cat Remix)" (A) 15. "Thy Wraith (Tino Gross Remix)" (C) DISC 2 (Hell's Pit) 01. "Walk Into The Darkness (Mike E. Clark Remix)" (A-) 02. "Suicide Hotline (Monoxide Remix)" (A+) (favorite) 03. "C.P.K.'s (Mike E. Clark Remix)" (A) 04. "Truly Alone (Kuma Remix)" (B) 05. "Everyday I Die (Mike E. Clark Remix)" (A+) 06. "The Witch (Tech N9ne Remix)" (B-) 07. "Bowling Balls (Monoxide Remix)" (C+) 08. "24 (DJ Clay Remix)" (C-) 09. "Burning Up (Mike E. Clark Remix)" (A+) 10. "Sedatives (Fritz The Cat Remix)" (D+) (Fritz The Cat Remix) (least favorite) 11. "In My Room (Wolf Pac Remix)" (B+) 12. "Angels Falling (Kottonmouth Kings Remix)" (B) 13. "Manic Depressive (Fritz The Cat Remix) (A+) I wouldn't say that this falls in the cracks of "great", but more of an "okay" to "solid" double-disc remix albums. I would recommend this to Juggalos and Juggalos only, the average hip-hop fan would be disappointed deeply by this. Peace. Blaze Ya Dead Homie appears courtesy of Psychopathic Records. Twiztid appears courtesy of Psychopathic Records. Zug Izland are currently unsigned artists. ~ Raw hide

Worth Having,

Overall, this album is worth getting if you don't have it yet. It's obvious the music has been changed, that's a given since it is a remix, but some of the lyrics have been changed as well. That is a good thing and a bad thing. On some of the songs, I thought they were better than the original album. On the other hand, I thought the changes made the songs worse. I am a fan, but some changes work and some don't. It's really good, but some of the tracks I didn't like so much.
