Some of the expensive pants have ONE belt loop in the back and they don't look good when a belt is worn.
These are great fitting jeans that hold up very well.
This was a gift and the recipient was very pleased with the fit, color and style.

Product Description

If it's good enough for the king of country, well then, they're good enough for you, authentic five pocket styling, scooped front pocket and spade hip pockets on 100% cotton, 15.25 oz denim

The Wrangler Cowboy Cut jean is a Western Wear icon. The original was made by cowboys for cowboys in 1947, and is still the jean of choice for real cowboys and working men of the West today. The Cowboy Cut jean was built to the detailed specifications of top rodeo athletes with features designed specifically for riding including heavyweight denims, broken twill weave to prevent twisted legs, rivets on all pockets, cut to fit over boots, strong double out seams and higher positioned back pockets. This is the only jean endorsed by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

If you are used to Levi's, here's some help in choosing a Wrangler jean that will fit you properly. This jean is the classic "Cowboy Cut" that Wrangler has been making since 1947. Among the Levi's jeans, the fit of this jeans is most similar to that of the Levi's 505, which in turn is similar to the Levi's 501, meaning that it is a fairly standard fit, not too tight nor too baggy. It doesn't have as much orange stitching as a Levi's, the back pockets sit higher, and the rise is a bit longer, giving it a slight dress pants look. Unlike the Levi's 501, it has a zipper fly (like the 505) rather than a button fly. The so-called "rigid denim" looks a lot like the "shrink to fit" rigid denim of the 501 when new and will lose a lot of indigo dye on the first wash, but that's where the resemblance ends. The 501 shrinks about 10%, but the Wrangler Cowboy Cut shrinks less than 3%, because it is Sanforized. So, you should buy your correct size, erring on the side of slightly larger if you are right on the border. The the really neat thing about the Wrangler is that they still have copper rivets on the back pockets, something Levi's stop doing generations ago when schools complained that the rivets scratched the wood desk chairs the school kids used to sit in!

Note also, that the Wrangler Cowboy Cut "Slim Fit" is quite a bit skimpier than this jean. The slim fit seat is smaller and the legs are pretty trim--it's more of a boy's cut. If you are really on the thin side, it may work for you, but many men will find it too constricting in the waist and seat.

Wranglers stonewash finishes are pretty mainstream compared to some of the more exotic things Levi's is doing now. These definitely are not so-called "destructed" jeans. You won't find whiskering or abrasion the way you will on the stonewash Levi's.

Overall, these are very solid well-made jeans that offer a nice alternative to the more popular Levi's models. Like Levi's, they are well made and indestructible.

All I ask out of a pair of jeans is solid construction and comfortable fit. The Wrangler George Strait Cowboy cut is right on the money. The depth and placement of the pockets is perfect. The zipper functions without a hitch. I can drive long trips without that nagging discomfort some pants provide. I am not a big fashion or high style kind of guy so whatever fads come and go don't appeal to me. I live in these jeans.

These jeans represent excellent value for money. They are basically an upmarket version of the famous Wrangler Men's Cowboy Cut Jeans but with better quality denim and a better colour. They are well made, feel great, and have a normal zip not a button fly. The leg is slightly on the long side, which suits me fine, but the waist is true to size and the seat perfectly fits my small behind. Jeans like these would be priced well over $100 a pair in Australia so I'm coming back for more!

I was surprised by how quickly I was going through the lower cost wranglers. These were only slightly more expensive, but are the heavier denim, and are much better stitched. Very happy.

This is the only jean I wear except for my black and double diped (formal) Wranglers. I have never found a more comfortable or cowboy up looking jean.

I purchased the pants for my dad who is a huge George Strait fan. Although there really isn't anything different between these pants and the other Wranglers, he thought it was great that they "said" they were George Strait. The pants were cheaper then any other retail location I had seen and the services I receved through Amazon was as always exactly what it said. I will absolutely make future purcahses through Amazon!

Compared to Wrangler original fit cowboy cut jeans (which many of us value very highly in this age of drooping drawers), the material is better quality, but the rise is a bit short. I ordered one of these and one of the less expensive original Wranglers for the husband. He kept both, but chose his third pair to be one more of the George Straight. I noticed they are a bit tight in the crotch, but perhaps this is deliberate for a showing off sort of effect.

For the last 10 years or more I have been buying Wranglers because the all over quality of Levies has badly deteriorated. I had been buying "regular" Wranglers at Target or K-Mart, but after reading reviews of these jeans on Amazon I ordered 2 pairs. My first impression was that the material of these jeans is indeed 'heavyweight" and that all the pockets are riveted. They seem to be made to last. The fit is excellent. For those who do not believe in separating clothes these jeans do bleed through a few washes, even in cold water.
