Worked as stated. Would recommend to others that need to protect pipes from freezing.. Be aware that you can't cross the cable or let it touch for risk of fire. But, you can wrap it unlike other brands that have to be put in a straight line.

After having to call a plumber due to my water softner rough in that is in the garage freezing and I lost water to my whole house. My plumber told me to by one of these. I bought one and it lasted a year before it no longer worked. So then I bought this one as a replacement. I bought this one a couple years ago and have not had a problem since and we have had some really bad weather here.

Probably just a rare flaw but it's not water proof. I needed it to keep pipes open right at the water line of a stock tank. Don' if I should order another one or not.

thermostat failed after 1 year. Does keep pipe safe and unfrozen . I was disappointed about the thermostat, but found an easy fix.

I had a problem with our hummingbird feeders freezing solid during an unusual cold spell. I bought two of these 3' heating tapes thinking they would do the trick.

To my surprise they each turned out to be 13-feet long. Bit of an overkill, don't you think? Is this a typo on the part of Amazon, or a mistake in the shipping department of the vendor that actually sold them to me?

Since they came nowhere near fitting the job that I had bought them for, I'm downgrading my review a couple of stars, even though I'm sure they would work fine if I had a 13-foot tall hummingbird feeder.

When it comes to frozen pipes you need a product you can trust. I keep an outdoor thermostat near the water line so I can keep an eye on it inside the home. When it dropped below 32 I checked to see if the light was on. It was not. I'm guessing the set screw for the thermostat wasn't set right from the factory. I picked up another one locally and it's been working fine all season.

I like this application as I have a 2 foot run and needed a 3 foot cable I could safely wrap.
