I have recently taken a great interest in Volcanology and Volcanoes in general and have purchased a wide variety of Volcano DVD movies online via Amazon.com. I purchased this movie, The Wrath of God - Mount Vesusvius (History Channel), in hopes of learning more about the volcano Mount Vesuvius and I have to say I was disappointed in this movies presentation. For the most part, this particular movie focuses a large majority of the time on the Roman Empire and the Roman people than it does the actual Volcano Mount Vesuvius and the actual event of the eruption and what took place that fateful day. It left me feeling like I was watching a documentary about the Roman Empire. They should just retitle this movie and say Hisotry Channel Presents: The Roman Empire in large fine bold print and in very small and minute baby sized lettering and The Wrath of God - Mount Vesusvius (History Channel). Buyer beware: If your looking for a movie that teaches you about Mount Vesuvius this is not the one to get in my honest opinion but if your looking to learn about Romans, by all means get this. If your looking to buy a decent movie to learn more about Mount Vesuvius than I would recommend purchasing Discovery Channel Presents: Pompeii The Last Day.
