Book Description

June 28, 1992
An 1868 shipwreck, the story of Saugatuck-area placenames, the romance of Mt. Baldhead, towering over the city; the trial of the yellow dog, and the exciting day the Big Pavilion, the center of entertainment in Saugatuck, burned in a spectacular fire. All told in a lively style.

This review is from: The Wreck of the Hippocampus and Other Tales of Saugatuck (Paperback)
It would appear that Kit Lane's books seem to be a collection of newspaper articles reprinted in book form with some notes tying them all together. Yes the data is there so of course the material is interesting to read if you are not familiar with the story but sometimes it is also difficult to read the old text of the newspaper. I do appreciate that she is out there keeping the stories of this area alive but just wish the format was a little more reader-friendly.
