Get ready for classic arcade video game action with a whole new modern look and feel!
Wreck-It Ralph is the 9-foot-tall, 643-pound villain of an arcade video game named Fix-It Felix Jr., in which the game's titular hero fixes buildings that Ralph destroys. Wanting to prove he can be a good guy and not just a villain, Ralph escapes his game through the power cord and lands in Hero's Duty, a first-person shooter where he helps the game's hero, Sergeant Calhoun, battle against "Cy-Bugs", the game's alien invaders. He later enters Sugar Rush, a kart racing game set on tracks made of candies, cookies and other sweets. There, Ralph meets Vanellope von Schweetz, one of that game's characters, who has learned that her game is faced with a dire threat that could affect the entire arcade, and one that Ralph may have inadvertently started.

1.0 out of 5 stars You have to TRY to make a game this bad! November 23, 2012
Platform for Display:Nintendo 3DS
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Wreck-It Ralph has to be one of the most beloved Disney films of recent times. It's a movie that's directed straight to people that have grown up in the 1980s (although it appealed to kids as well), and seen how the arcade game industry has changed overtime. The movie was full of laughs and references, but featured a really deep and thrilling tale of a video game bad guy who wants to get a new name for himself. So what does this game based off the movie based off of games have to offer? Absolutely none of what I just described.

The game is supposed to take place straight after the movie's plot, but it IS possible to avoid spoiling the movie, right? Unfortunately, Activision refused to try. Within the first seconds after starting a new game, the ending of the movie is instantly spoiled. But since I'm so nice, I won't spoil it for this review. However, I will have to mention that the Cybugs, one of the few conflicts in the movie, is THE WHOLE CONFLICT here in this game for some reason. I don't want to think of Wreck-It Ralph as a series about hideous bugs. I want to think of the series as a love letter to gamers!

Anyway, that was all presented in this cute little CGI-animated intro which has mistakes such as a lack of textures in one scene and Felix having miscolored hair. Activision sure rushed THIS out the door. BUT GUESS WHAT? Wait til you see what the actual game looks like!

Oh GOD did things go downhill! The graphics look like they were created for the Sega 32x. They are downright awful, and the music totally accompanies them by playing a short loop of a song that would only sound nice the first few times. And now for what we've been waiting for: The gameplay mechanics.

Let's just say this is one of the most uninspired platformers I've played yet.

1.0 out of 5 stars COULD BE GREAT IF DESIGNED WITH MORE CARE! December 30, 2012
Platform for Display:Nintendo 3DS
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
This game could be fun if it was designed with more care. Felix can not jump high enough to reach eggs and awards in a few places. The game gets very boring and annoying after a short amount of time. There are not enough levels to make it worth the money....Another example of cashing in without making it worth the time or expense.....This game has great potential if another company re-writes it! My 6 year old granddaughter enjoyed it at first, but quickly became frustrated, that is how I ended up playing it. Wait to buy it when it ends up in the bargain bins for under $10.....it may be worth that.

2.0 out of 5 stars Locked in until end of each level January 21, 2013
Platform for Display:Nintendo 3DS
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I am an older person and will have to have my 10 year old grandson help me through the second level. I haven't figured out how to get past it, probably because I am an old man. However, it is good for my brain to try to get through the game. It can be fun at times. I would like to be able to have part of a level saved so I can move on to something else, but you have to finish a level before you quit or you lose everything in that level. I bought the game because my grandson loved the movie so much, though I didn't see it. He lives 1200 miles away so I won't be able to get his help until I can visit with him. At his age he is a whizz at video games and I am sure he can show me how to achieve success. I would recommend the game to a person whom is skilled in 3DS game playing. Someone mentioned about the color of someone's hair compared to the movie. I don't care what colors things are. You should see the colorful robots I build in Lego NXT Robotics compared to the exact coloration my grandson achieves as we build together on SKYPE. So it is possible he might be more aware of the colorization of the characters and background. This reminds me of people who want movies to exactly match the books. I haven't cared as long as the story was good except for the way the studio chopped up the movie Eragon. I found that while playing the game I had to diminish the 3D effect somewhat because if the screen became angled at all I would miss jumps or get zapped by the creatures (what ever they are). I said I would recommend the game but I would wait until it has been out for a while and has gotten cheaper.
