The book is WRECKED, but you won't be!,

This review is from: Wrecked (Regan Reilly Mysteries) (Hardcover)
Once again, Carol Higgins Clark has produced a funny, quirky and enjoyable read for the quick mystery lover. It's fast paced and upbeat and the characters are so well described, they will immediately bring to mind someone you have in your own life. I have read every one of the Regan Reilly series and one thing I've noticed: they get better and better. My only complaint is there is only one a year and I finished it much too fast; couldn't put it down.
No, these are not as intense as some other types of mysteries but that's what makes them fun and unique. You, the reader, feel like you are the nosy but well intentioned friend or neighbor who just wants to know what's going on. The different twists and turns keep you guessing, and sometimes even laughing, but always interested.

Wrecked? You bet!,

The title of this book is certainly appropriate-WRECKED--for that is what this book is.
I suffered through this book to the half way point and almost gave it up, but continued on. I agree with the other person who gave this book one star. WRECKED is WRECKED---trite, plotless plot and there were a few grammatical errors. A friend loaned this book to me and the only good thing about it was that I didn't spend one cent on it. Don't bother with it, there are better books out there.

Wrecked in Content,
This review is from: Wrecked (Regan Reilly Mysteries) (Hardcover)
I've read all of the Regan Reilly mystery series and this is by far the weakest of Clark's works. To say that the characters are a stretch unbelievable would be an understatement. And on the subject of characters, Megan has all but disappeared. She is barely present throughout and her dialogue is minimal.her husband,Jack, plays a much more prominent role in moving the plot and sustaining the action. Happenstance coincidences are too numerous to maintain the customary suspension of disbelief.
Although I've always praised the author for her less graphic approach to mystery writing, I must say that the storyline lacked any real emotion or suspense. It really appeared that Ms. Clark was going through the motions of fulfilling a contractual obligation. She is capable of more and can certainly make a comeback as did Sue Grafton in her last work. Megan Reilly may need to take off more time than celebrating a wedding anniversary. She might take a hand at staying at home and raising a family while husband, Jack, continues to fight the bad guys.

I was hoping for more from Mary Higgins Clark's daughter. This is the first Carol Higgins Clark book I have read, and I am not probably going to read another. The plot is too simple and the none of the characters are not well developed. Nothing about this book grabbed me. Don't bother to read it.

FAST READ,

Just another of Carol Higgins Clark's Regan Reilly mysteries. This time it is Cape Cod for the locale and several mysterious strings holding it all together. The ending seemed rushed to me. Loved the idea of the shop Pillow Talk. Murders, intrigue and blackmail are all present.

If this is the first book by Carol Higgins Clark you have read, you will go back and get the ones before this. She is a great story teller like her Mother. I have all her books and will continue to buy everyone that comes out!!
I even have my Sister hooked on her, so I always but two!!! Enjoy

Wrecked lives up to Carol Higgins Clark's wonderful writing in all her books in the series. I love this series and can't wait until the next one comes out.

A Fun Read,

I never miss a Regan and Jack mystery and Wrecked was a fun, feel good, and witty read, without all the gore which I can easily do without. I was born in New England, spent summers on Cape Cod, so I especially liked the fact that Jack and Regan spent their "First Wedding Anniversary" at the Cape. Welcome back Kit, Regan's longtime friend. Looking forward to Regan and Jack's next adventure.
