Book Description

The young witch Wren follows her mentor Omar across the frozen wastes of Europa to the warring cities of Constantia and Stamballa, where war is the least of her problems.

While Omar leads a desperate battle against an undead army, Wren must face the immortal witch Baba Yaga, who has gone mad grieving for her son, Koschei the Deathless. During their duel, Wren confronts the spiteful souls of her dead teachers, her own secret fears made flesh, and the waking nightmares of Baba Yaga herself.

But Omar has taught her how to control the aether mists that reveal the souls of the dead, so if Wren can somehow defeat the mad crone, she may gain the power to end the entire war by herself.

The Europa trilogy of dark fantasy adventures:
Book 1: Omar the Immortal
Book 2: Freya the Huntress
Book 3: Wren the Fox Witch

5.0 out of 5 stars Is it really a trilogy with a fourth book coming? March 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Another fabulous book in the series. The action in this one seemed to pick up much faster than in others, probably because there was less back story to cover. I couldn't put it down once things got going and I will curse Mr. Lewis for "making" me stay up until 2am reading. It's good to see how some of the immortals are getting more introductions. If you read either the first Asha book or the last Halcyon book awhile ago, you may want to go back and remind yourself of some of the minor characters as you'll see them taking on a more prominent role. I'd almost forgotten about some of them and had to go back to remember.

Looks like book 2 of Asha will be the last of the story line for awhile, and it looks like we'll see more of Wren in the final book.

I have read almost all of his books. Every single one was great. I rarely buy ebooks but I am making an exception for his books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dark Fantasy on an alternate Earth March 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Wren the Fox Witch ends the Europa Trilogy and leads into the final story in the Other Earth series. It's a good ending to the trilogy, and a nice set-up for the final book. The reader has come a long way in the Other Earth series, with each step of the journey a satisfying one, and this is no exception. Lewis has continued to craft his characters and settings into people and places you know. The Europa books have been the darkest of the series, and very magic rich. This is more fantasy than steam punk, and we are given the most insight into the magic of the Other Earth. The pacing is good, the characters strong, and the action is clean and easy to follow. The dialog flows nicely, and gives each character a very natural voice.
