The Wright & McGill MDR90C-4 Medium Drifter "Traveler" Casting Rod is a nine-foot long, four-piece salmon/steelhead, medium drift rod that will perform like that old two-piece rod you've relied on for years. With the perfect combination of sensitivity and strength, this incredibly compact, four-piece casting rod is packed in a beautiful case complete with leather trim.
This rod is made from Kevlar--one of the strongest materials known to man. Used in body armor, performance apparel, protective helmets, and now in fishing rods, Wright & McGill designed this rod to battle some of the toughest fish on the planet. Wright & McGill exclusively use Fuji Alconite Guides for both their casting and spinning models. These guides utilized Fuji's "New Concept" guide placement system. These strong and lightweight guides are perfect for this application and will provide the durability needed to fight the strongest salmon or steelhead that swim in the waters of the Northwest and upper Great Lakes regions.
When you're connected to a hard charging salmon or steelhead, you'll appreciate the sure grip that Wright & McGill's "Palm Swell" provides. Palm Swell fills the gap created in the palm of your hand with traditional round handles. To build strong, light, and sensitive rods, Wright & McGill uses a custom blend of high and intermediate modulus graphite and chemically binds this with the Kevlar in the butt section. The result is a rod that looks, feels, and performs great. This rod features a large, comfortable fighting butt that provides additional rod control and leverage, while making the rod more comfortable to hold, even after a long day of fighting all those fish.
The MDR90C-4 features a 0.375-0.75 ounce lure weight, 8-12 pound line weight, fast action, and medium power. This rod also features a high-quality cork handle with a Fighting Butt and a Palm Swell--13.5 inches long in the rear and two inches in the front of the reel seat.

All fore grips 3 inches or longer feature our custom designed "Triangle" fore grip. This unique and functional design helps to eliminate the natural rod twist that occurs under the pressure of a heavy fish.

Very nice 4 pice pole wish I had 3 more. Have used on salmon and steelhead works well on both. Easy to pack with my fly rods and will go anywere you need it to. I mached my rod with a Shimano calcutta 201 with 15 lb p-line and fish on. Great casting; handels fish up to 30 lbs, just wish I had 3 more.Rich
