I'd bought the Craftsy class "Magical Jelly Roll Quilts" by Kimberley Einmo. She designed this ruler for work with all sorts of fabric precuts (jelly rolls, layer cakes, charm squares). It will be nice to use this ruler, rather than fussing with my normal rulers and figuring out where to place tape on them to outline the area I want to cut each time. I particularly like how this ruler is designed with a different color print on each side, along with the graphic showing which part of a flying geese unit that side is created to help you cut! The geese "wings" are the teal side of the ruler, and the geese "body" is the magenta side of the ruler.

I know there are some another way to make the block with another ruler but I wanted to learn the method with this ruler from the online class.

Hands down the easiest method for making stars and flying geese, plus I've found several uses for this ruler beyond its design intentions. The 1/4" marking along the edges makes is very nice for trimming blocks down to size without cutting off my points.
