An Important Addition to Everyone's Nutritional Library, June 10, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Dr. Wright's Guide to Healing With Nutrition (The Keats Health Reference Library) (Paperback)
I purchased Dr. Wright's Guide for my wife who had heard about it being discussed. My wife and I are both adequately learned in orthomolecular medicine (mega-vitamins by another term), so we do have a reasonable background in nutrition.
I have not read all of the book, but I have enjoyed the method Dr. Wright uses to describe symptoms through use of past stories of cases. No book can provide all information, particularly when the topic encompasses the almost unlimited variances within each individual's nutritional needs, but Dr. Wright's is a worthy addition to be read alongside other important nutrient books such as "The Vitamin Bible" and others.
Should a person consider this book? Yes, in my opinion this is one of the better books available, not just for it's information, but for it's style of writing which should help readers (especially those who are new to nutrients) better understand how and why good nutrition is beneficial.
The simple fact is, in today's societies of fast foods and foods grown in depleted soil, to stay healthy we must each take personal responsibility to maintain a sufficient input of balanced nutrition. While some of us have not had so much as a flu since 1979, others frequently catch every bug floating around. The sole difference is one's nutrition, and we learn much of what we need through nutrition books. Dr. Wright's Guide is a whole lot less expensive than even one day's loss of work due to a cold. It is a wise investment financially and for a happier life.
If you already have a collection of nutrition books, this is an important addition. If you have no nutrition books yet, this is a good one to start with.
