WOW!! This unit plan covers all the bases. I am so impressed with this CD unit that I plan to buy one for all the novels I teach! If you teach A Wrinkle in Time, you must purchase this unit plan today!

I bought the CD version, and felt that I had received my $19.95 worth. In the vocabulary section, I especially liked the assignments using contextual clues and prior knowledge for the student to derive the meaning of the embedded word; then the following assignment has students matching those same vocabulary words with their definitions. In this way, words are internalized as natural, derived language rather than memorized from a dictionary. There are daily lessons, study guides, and assessments. The quotations used by a character in the book lead to one exercise, and a list of great men mentioned in a section (Bach, da Vinci, Schweitzer, Gahdhi, and Buddha) provide an avenue for biographical research. With the single caveat of the fact that the Short Answers appear to be duplicates of some found in the (separate purchase) "Wrinkle in Time Puzzle Pack," which are not very well conceived, I found this Literature Unit to be very helpful in my 6th grade classroom.

I have really enjoyed the information on this disc. It is a great resource for teaching the novel, and I'm glad that I made the personal investment.
