This product works well and is designed well except for one major flaw the plastic piece that holds the plates is prone to break, I purchased this a couple of years ago and now would like to find a replacement part, I am unable to locate the company address and it looks like I'm going to have to rig something up.

Pros:
This product is *very* sturdy. The pin that holds the plates feels like it could be slammed into concrete and only get a scratch. The handles and strap are also all very tough.

This product is also very efficient. You won't be using more than 10lbs anytime soon using this, I can deadlift 310lbs for reps with no chalk, but 5 reps on this with 5lbs sets the forearms a burnin'.

The added handles on the end also allows a variation of your grip and this is the only one of its type I've seen that has this.

Cons:
The rubber grips on the handle leave a feeling like touching fly paper while in use, they also allow your hand to slip a bit during use if you aren't watching for it(I recommend opening your hand all the way between each turn, to maximize your workout)

The manual that comes with it doesn't give any workout suggestions, it just says, essentially, "Roll all the way up slowly and roll all the way down slowly, go bananas". I would have very much prefered "For size 4 set of 8-12 reps, for strength 5 sets of 3 reps" Or something to that effect since this isn't a normal weight lifting exercise.

Overall: 4/5(I almost never give 5's) Would by again if I grew a second set of arms

Great product and well built. I really liked the ability to grip on the inside or outside to work my forearms in two different ways.

I bought this product many years back and it's decent. But I found that the rubber on the handles can kind of flake off onto your hands from the friction. I see they raised the price too -- not worth 50 bucks! I think I paid 30 at the time and that plastic piece that attaches to the weight plates will start to wear down over time -- I think the metal wrist rollers are better bargains and much cheaper also.

I enjoy the Wrist Ripper very much. It's very effective at working the forearm and wrist. I like the burn it gives me. Instead of going by reps, I usually go by time. I believe the forearm muscles are best suited for endurance, with a lot of reps instead of heavier weights with low reps. Although, it's always good to switch up your routine. Personally, I prefer the pump I get with using a lot of reps. Sometimes I use the wrist roller right after I finish doing reverse curls, this adds to the burn and the pump. I'm satisfied with this product.

Gives a good wrist workout and creates wrist fatigue rather quickly which shows how weak my wrists are. The thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was a 2 inch adapter for use with Olympic plates would have been ideal.

For just under 30 years, I was a Judo competitor and traveled all over the world to compete in Tournaments. I had to be fit, but most of all, I had to have tenacious grip strength. I held on to so many Gi's over the years, my fingers are permanently calloused from this work. I used to buy a round dowel, drill a hole through it and put a cord in it with a knot to hold the cord on. To the other end, I would tie various weights and role the weights up and down to strengthen the forearms, wrists and fingers. Finding a good device like this, where clipping on the weights or plates is easy, is well worth the money. The roller is designed to practice with a variety of grips as well. I'm old now and no longer compete, but I keep that grip as strong as steel and this UWR is a good way to keep that grip killer strong. I highly recommend it.
