5.0 out of 5 stars The best wrist braces I ever used!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as pictured
The wrist support I received is not like the one pictured. I almost returned it - but needed it immediately and didn't have time to order another. I couldn't find one like this in stores at all. After wearing it and breaking it in it is great and works well for me.

I have suffered with Carpal Tunner Syndrome for many years. In 2001 I had "tendon release surgery" on both wrists and no longer have any problems unless I really, really overuse my wrists. BUT, prior to the surgery I tried at least a dozen different brands of wrist supports, and this was the winning brand and style. I recently purchased a few more pairs of these via Amazon because my old ones were getting beat. I spent a long time looking for these particular supports, and finally found the manufacturer. The manufacturer's "Internet Source" is not economical, but the Amazon source was extremely economical. I still use these to sleep in after wrist overuse and occasionally as I am "overusuing" my wrists if the activity is conducive to being performed with straight wrists. They wash wonderfully (remove the metal brace and close the velcro--air dry) and are very sturdy. My first ones lasted for 10 years!!!

The sizing listed is good. the biggest issue I have with the size is that it is very long on the hand so it goes all the way to my pinkie meaning I can't wear it while typing - something I was specifically hoping to be able to do.

I probably WOULD purchase this again if I needed a replacement or one for the other hand.

3.0 out of 5 stars Support is good, but styling not so much., January 9, 2012

The wrist support I received is not quite as pictured--it lacks the stitching shown in the picture, which looks like it would give it a more tailored fit. The one I received is straight, and doesn't really contour to the wrist unless you pull it pretty tight. Also the picture doesn't show the back, where the velcro fasteners are, or you would see that the strip that the tabs stick to is a little over an inch wide, while the velcro tabs that stick to it are more than two inches long--so if you have a small wrist you end up with an inch or more of the velcro tab ends sticking up. Add that to the sewn-on label that also sticks up, and you have, well, tabs sticking out all over. It's definitely not something you would wear in public. It needs a sleeve to cover it, or else maybe you can cut the tabs shorter. But, aside from that, with the aluminum stabilizer, it does give good support.

I thought I was going to need wrist braces for a while. So I purchased another pair to use when I was going to be getting my hands dirty.(gardening, swimming at the river, etc) The first pair I got from the pharmacy were medium. I wear medium gloves. So, I purchased medium. They were WAY too small to use. A friend of mine needed some a few weeks after I purchased these and they fit her. (she wears small to extra small gloves) So, I sold them to her for the price I paid instead of returning them. Just be aware if you are going to buy these, get at least one size larger than you would normally.

2.0 out of 5 stars Scratchy velcro side touches skin, August 1, 2011

I do not have a large hand or wrist, but the medium size does not close completely and so the scratchy velcro side touches my skin. The wrist support I have for my other hand has an inner cloth sleeve, a better system of thin and wide velcro strips that go through buckles instead of the 4 bare straps here, and better materials. If you really want this I suggest you overestimate your hand size and not expect a quality product.

I really love these Scott #4039 wrist splints. They help tremendously with my wrist pain from repetitive motion injury or overuse. I wear these braces on both wrists at night and they are very comfortable. The fit is excellent too. I just followed the measuring directions in the description to choose my size. I would highly recommend them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lack of return call, November 18, 2010

I never opened the item because after I made the order, I realized that I had accidentally ordered a left one even though he had lots of right ones advertised on Amazon. I just went to the wrong Amazon ad when ordering from him. I emailed him and told him the problem and he said to contact him by phone the day I received it by mail. Well, I did and my husband did also a few days later. We left messages on his voicemail. About two weeks later, he left an email that said he was on a Haiti mission with supplies and that's why he didn't get back to us. I called him two more times by phone and he still hasn't responded so I guess I am not going to be able to exchange the wrist support for a right hand one. It was my fault on the order, but he should have told me up front that he didn't want to help me with an exchange. If he didn't want to help, then just say so from the beginning so we don't waste our time in long distance calls where no one answers the phone.
I gave a rating of 3 stars based on my experience with the seller. Since I did not open the box, I can't honestly give a rating on the wrist band.
