This has always been a great watch reference book with exceptional pictures but this year the pictures are way too small so there's no detail. Don't know if I'll purchase next year if they continue with the small picture style.

The Annual is an indispensable compilation of almost every worthwhile new watch available. It is also the only guide in English that I know of that lists retail prices. All the more fun when you find that great street price.
My only gripe this year is that the photos have all been made too small in an effort to get more content into as many pages. Admirable goal but the photos are fairly useless unfortunately so only a four star rating. Make the book thicker editors! We'll pay for it because then we'll be able to read it properly!
As an aside, is it just me or has anyone else noticed some mighty hefty price increases this year? Supply & demand is one thing but those crazy Swiss need to be careful of killing the [stainless steel these days - don't get me started about gold case prices!] proverbial swan-neck regulator.

Great compliation of wristwatches for those who want to know what's new to the wristwatch world. Great info on the manufacturers and their history.

If you like fine watches then this is a great book. It has a good range from almost all the major manufacturers and includes prices. Highly recommended.

2001 Peter Braun Watch Manual.
I purchased this book through Irene Hena at Amazon I paid a very fair price for a great reference book. The Peter Braun yearly watch annuals are a must for the intermediate to the very serious watch collector. This book alone helped me pick out my wifes perfect x-mas gift. A 6 year old Versace watch which no one had any clue as to its valu I paid aprximately 10% or the original purchase price. So remember you watch collectors this is your bible. I rene was a wonderful person to due business with she sent various follow up e-mails to verify I got exactly what I was expecting. I would do again tommorrow on the 2000 watch annual

The book contains the same type of data as last year's edition as it gives the general background of each brand, the specs of each watch and the MSR Price.

A very good thing about this new edition is that contains more watch brands than the 2007 edition, less known brands, and it reviews more watch models from each manufacturer compared to last year's.

Of course this Book contains the the most representative New watches for this year from each manufacturer together with specs and pictures and the thing I love about this book is that it lists the Base Price of the watches ( price may vary depending on the final retailer ).

I have read the reviews here and have to disagree. How can anyone give this book just 1 star.
Its a very nice book and has some great quality pictures. It does not have too much content but its not that sort of book, it is a 2008 catalog. The author has done a super job putting it togther.

But with small pictures in the 2008 Annual! Organization and selection of watches is always a bit controversial, but this really is the go-to guide for high-quality mechanical watches.

This is a highly informative book with exquisite photos of many top name swiss watches. A must have for serious watch collectors like myself.

Of all the watch catalogs and annuals this one is the most comprehensive. A quality publication with much info regarding high end mechanical watches. Not perfect, some prices are not recorded, but a must have for watch lovers.
