Editorial Reviews

About the Author

Arthur Herzog is an award-winning novelist, non-fiction writer and journalist, renowned for his best-selling novels The Swarm, Orca (both made into popular movies), and I.Q. 83, hailed by the British press as one of the best science fiction works ever written and currently under option to Dreamworks.

Mr. Herzog, an obvious lover of literature, feels passionate about the craft of writing and fathered this book and lecture series to show others how to achieve what he knows is possible.

Mr. Herzog teaches a practical approach to writing based on his belief that at least 75% of the writing process is proper preparation. “Discipline is half the battle,” he says, “Writing is more method and organization than inspiration.” The concise, painless method Herzog has patterned leads the neophyte or the pro through five steps to better writing: Psyche Yourself Out; Sit Yourself Down; The Right Idea; The Write Stuff; and Read It and Weep.

The ability to write frees Herzog, is imperative to a life fulfilled. A person who can’t write is going to be ever more deprived in a world based on communication. “If you can’t write well,” notes the author, “You lose a tremendous occupational level.”

1.0 out of 5 stars did not meet my needs, September 17, 2010

This review is from: How to Write Almost Anything Better and Faster! (Paperback)
I was looking for help with exactly what the title of the book proposed, but I found that the book seemed 20 years old to me. Outdated thinking and outdated ideas. I write daily and must meet daily and weekly deadlines. It did not meet my needs. I would NOT recommend buying this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only if you have dreams of being a writer, February 11, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: How to Write Almost Anything Better and Faster! (Paperback)
I bought this to write a recommendation for a hard working not so bright student. I needed inspiration. This is not the book for professional letter writing.
