5.0 out of 5 stars Concise and precise April 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A great collection of tips for anyone who writes. Since I have taught writing and am myself an author, I was familiar with most of them, but is is very helpful to have them all in one place for easy reference. My personal favorite is to write the rough draft without editing. Just let the ideas flow and get the story told. I used to edit each sentence as I wrote, but when I started to follow this advice, I actually got some things finished! As Mike points out, there is a writer's hat and an editor's hat and they ideally should be worn at different times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tips for any writer April 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I wasn't sure what to expect with this book but I was pleasantly surprised by these quick tips. The writer didn't go on and on beating a dead horse. #1 is a no brainer but so easily missed! #7 is genius, #9 is the most difficult for me to do and #10 I'm so guilty of not doing myself. I could go on with the tips, but then I might be beating a dead horse too!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read For All Writers April 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I gained some helpful information by reading this book, even though I am already the author of several books. This short book is packed full of useful information for anyone who writes professionally. One of the most important points the author stresses is the use of a good editor. Nothing is worse than trying to read a book that has not been properly edited. It is a big turn off for most readers. The use of proper punctuation is also of much importance. A common mistake is the overuse of commas and exclamation points. Accurate spelling and using the correct word are also very important.

I highly recommend this well written book to anyone who is a writer or plans to write professionally in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Solid Advice April 28, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This little book with its straight-forward tips and advice is a must-read for any "wanna be" writer looking to get off on the right foot. Even if you've been writing for a while, Mike makes some very good points about what you should and shouldn't do. I liked that he touched on the various grammatical traps writers often fall into and gave suggestions on how you can avoid them. I'm a big fan of Mike Adams for one reason: his books get right to the point with valuable tips you can take and run with. No fluff to speak of, just good solid advice. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Straight-to-the-point do’s and don’ts April 28, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Even though I know that I have the right skills in writing, I found this book quite helpful because it gave me some things that I need to be reminded of, as well as, tips that I can execute as I write. Moreover, the tips given in the book were concise, but were able to deliver the message. I personal favorite tip is writing the first draft as quick as I can without worrying about anything else. This is because I can really pour out what I think without stopping. Do you wish to become a better writer? This is definitely the book for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars but I feel there are better options around
Not a lot of new material here. Mike goes over the basics, in a very short, straight to the point way. Its a booklet, almost, but I feel there are better options around.

2.0 out of 5 stars A book or a blog post?
This book is a more of a long blog post than a book telling well known truths taught in school.
Author definitely could have done a better job.

1.0 out of 5 stars 50 well-written bullet points
Not worthwhile. Each point is a quick paragraph or two telling you what to do but not how to do it. Not a book that deserves accolades. Read more
