The truth of the matter is that while digital self-publishing has brought down the barrier to publishing books, the very lack of any significant barrier to entry has also left the industry vulnerable to unscrupulous authors who put out a less-than-polished book. Many engage in years of trial-and-error just to churn out a single best-seller, if any, at all.
`Write It and Sell It' helps the newbie author understand the vital two-pronged gist of the self-publishing industry: how to write a good book properly, decently, and effectively, and how to sell that book effectively without bleeding yourself dry. As you learn upon reading this book, there are creative ways to write a title, a book description, even the content, but there are creative and "highly sellable" ways to do the same. And Ian Stables' book teaches you how.
Easy to read and understand, concise, straight to the point. `Write It and Sell It' should be on any newbie self-publishing author's bookshelf--that is, if they want to succeed. Highly recommended.
I recommend it to other new e-Authors who are trying to get their writing techniques fine tuned for the greatest level of productivity.
One caveat, however, the writing style is a bit like an infomercial. You will basically read, "I'm about to tell you something wonderful. You will love how wonderful it is. I will tell you in the next paragraph why it is so wonderful. Here is the wonderful thing I'm telling you. Wonderful thing. Wasn't that wonderful? Allow me to recap." Strangely, though, just like you can get mesmerized by some infomercials, I was mesmerized by this book. Rather than seeming trite, it just made me feel a sense of anticipation as I read through the book... cover to cover without putting it down!
The advice was well worth wading through the hyperbole. It was also illustrative of a point Ian Stables was trying to make on how to structure the book and individual chapters within the book. So the highest demerit I could have charged against this writing style trifle was about a third of a star. Hence my offering a 5 star review.
It is a very quick read. You'll use your highlighter a lot, but it's not necessary because the author kindly summarizes most of the key points at the end of the book.
Will I buy another book from Ian Stables. Absolutely, YES! As a matter of fact, I already have after reading this one.
Read and learn from this successful online author.

I looked at other how-to books, but they were full of filler and I didn't have the patience to waste my time. I needed a guide that got straight to the point and give me the best tips. The title "Write It and Sell It" seemed like the author understood exactly what I was looking for: a no-nonsense plan to organizing my thoughts, writing a book, and selling it. Sure enough, Write It and Sell It gave me an easy step-by-step plan to follow. And I thought there were a lot of very useful methods that I haven't seen in other how-to's.
The end result was that I had my book written by the end of the weekend and my first sale the following week! The feedback from readers say they love how the information is presented. I was surprised by the number of orders I got too. It's currently ranked pretty high in the Kindle store. Couldn't be more pleased!
This book has gave me some great pointers on what to do an also change in the books I have completed already. Thumbs up from me on this one.
