About the Author

Sylvia McClain is currently a contributing writer for Equal Opportunity Publications and The Michigan Journal published by the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She has written articles for magazines Braids World and Strut to name a few. She conducts workshops on money management, self-publishing, and freelance writing. Ms. McClain is also a book reviewer for MyShelf.com An author of a memoir titled Skipping Through Life, The Reason I Am, Ms. McClain has a new book titled The Write Life: A Beginning Writer s Guide to Writing, Money management, Publishing and Marketing. She formerly wrote a weekly column, Sylvia Speaks for the Dearborn Press and Guide. She has been featured in The Writer's Digest on-line Speak Out section as well as WD's 2003 Writer's Yearbook extra. Ms. McClain has been a guest columnist and a contributing writer for the Michigan Chronicle, was regularly quoted in The Detroit Free Press and Detroit News as a subject matter expert. She has written features stories published by The University of Michigan-Dearborn in the university's Lyceum.
