5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect guide for writing papers in school or at work, June 24, 2003

Writing a paper that is well-organized and concise can be a challenge even for the seasoned writer. From resumes to business letters, Dr. Iacone's book offers practical advice and approaches for any kind of writing. I found the numerous written examples throughout the book to be extrememly helpful. This book is a valuable tool for high school students, college students, novice writers, business people, and those of us who want our writing to be well-polished and right to the point.

5.0 out of 5 stars Write to the Point is Right to the Point, February 21, 2003

The Amazon editorial review for Dr. Iacone's recent book refers to it as an "invaluable handbook." It is definitely that. Discussion of personal stumbling blocks is easily (or should that be "are" easily ...?) located in this handy reference guide, and the discussion of common, and not-so-common, buggaboos is clear and concise. I work with engineers and architects who are bright, bright, bright, but would, along with me, benefit mightily from Dr. Iacone's book. It should be included on any workplace office shelf.

2.0 out of 5 stars I wish he used fewer words to get to his point, September 26, 2007

It's mostly common sense advice. Stuff like "Think about your audience before you write" and "Email should be casual yet professional." There are lots of checklists that are too easy to gloss over. A book titled "Write to the Point" should help one write concise and precise writing, as Stott's book does. Iacone's book is more like a handbook of how to rephrase business writing for the situation and audience.
