Book Description

A # 1. US & UK Best Seller Workbook

The work of award winning writer Tony Craze has been described as ' . . . assured, enthralling, daring, and with an emotional charge powerful enough to send one reeling . . .'

He has now subsumed a thousand days and nights delivering theater writing workshops into Write a Theatre Script in 25 Days (& 10 Hours). The workbook takes an aspiring writer through a step by step process from initial idea to finished first draft. There's no theorizing about writing, no worthy exercising. The writer simply follows through the cumulative units and in 25 days (& 10 hours) there on the desk sits the draft.

The process set down here is the first published full theater scripting process and has been delivered in a variety of contexts - from professional writer programs, and open access courses, to on line programs. Without exception, students using the process produce scripts that reach the desks of literary managers and nine times out of ten are marked for development.

Designed to work with how you think as an individual. You follow the steps your way, although it is still concrete guidance. Truly helpful, good for expanding you imagination, your creativity, even if your not very creative, like me and teaches you how to set up for the play you are going to write, prepare yourself and your characters, then gets you through writing it.

I got this with the electronic download, I wish a hard copy had been available, if one becomes so, I will buy it!
Great playwrighting tool!

Like most of the titles promising "in 10 days" or such and takes longer. The big plus is, it gives you a process that actually gets you going and gives you the guidelines you need to stay on track.

More About the Author

A graduate of the London Film School, he moved from film to theater following the Verity Bargate Award winning production of his play 'Shona' - a terse, painful blast against modern psychiatric practices told through the story and ultimate lobotomization of a 28-year old schizophrenic. He has since written a dozen theater premiers produced throughout the UK. (see full listing @ )

Alongside his work as theater writer, he has practiced as dramaturge to numerous new writing initiatives across British Theater - work subsumed into the # 1 Best Seller Workbook, 'Write a Theatre Script in 25 Days (& 10 hours)'.

He reverted to full time fiction writing with publication of 'Holli & Bill Go Traveling - the movie', followed by 'The Haunting of Miles Rouse' - a three volume fictionalized biography.

His fiction writing has been described as ' . . . different in substance, different in style: it is spare, bald, with the emotional movement of the work told entirely through subtext - work that credits its readers with emotional intelligence . . .'
