This review is from: How to Write Western Novels (Genre Writing Series) (Hardcover)
How to Write Western novels is one of those books you buy to keep next to your computer. Matt Braun gives solid advise on various sub-genres of the western, how they are structured, character building, finding your voice, and knowing your setting. I am just revising a western. You'd better believe I am using it. Thank you Matt!

This review is from: How to Write Western Novels (Genre Writing Series) (Hardcover)
Whether you're writing a western or not, Braun's gritty, straightforward approach to the craft of storytelling is a refreshing change from the usual pabulum on writing. He does not waste time reminding readers of the importance of noun-verb agreement and other fundamentals of prose. Instead he tackles the real bogeys--plotting, character development, and "writer's block." Abundant personal examples and dry wit make this a fun read.
