Terrificly Written March 16, 2007
By Tom
Format:Paperback
I loved this book. As a writer, I wanted to get more information about expanding my portfolio. This book is easy to read, full of helpful information and inexpensive. You can't get much better than that! However, this book focuses on magazine article writing and not so much on books. So if you're an aspiring article writer, I say, "Don't pass this book up!"

I had the unusual privilege of being a student in Dr. Hensley's Freelance Writing class, and though it was (obviously) required reading for the course, I found this book quite useful for a beginning writer. I may enjoy writing, but how should I go about it, if I'd like to officially write for publication purposes? And why should I even do so?

Thankful that this is not a review written for a grade, I will still enthusiastically share that this book has a permanent place on my shelf. It isn't there as a dust collector, but as a useful resource. Doc Hensley is a valued professor, speaker, and writer - he openly shares tips of markets, topics, formats and style in this most recent edition of his work for freelancers. If this is an area of interest to you, I don't think you'd be disappointed!
