1.0 out of 5 stars Ripoff -- You're Paying for a Sales Pitch June 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This "book" is basically an extended sales pitch to buy the author's training course on how to write a book, which is priced at $49.95. What a joke! It amazes me how many people have 5 starred this book. Certainly it demonstrates that there is money to be made writing "teasers" to sell to the unsuspecting public. Bottom line -- if you're a consultant or self-employed professional in almost any field looking to increase your credibility and client base, then yes, by all means, write a book. There, I just saved you $3.95.

I was expecting a few pointers on how one can write a book. I am an entrepreneur who knows that a book can help my business a lot. Author agrees and drives in the point over and over with out going on the specifics of how to go about it.

The title said it will help me write a book but does not have any content on the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book! June 5, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've read a lot of books about writing, but this particular book is unique. It doesn't give you any instructions on 'how' to write a book - nothing about plotting, perspective, outlining or editing. What it does is tell you is how writing a book can help your career - help you ace an interview, increase your consulting gigs or land more speaking gigs. I had never thought about many of the ideas in this book (and I consider myself to be pretty savvy!), so it was a real eye opener. Some readers have criticized it because the author does promote some of his blogs and other services in the book, but that's kind of the whole point of the book to begin with - to show people that writing a book can be good for your career! And while he does promote some of his other businesses, you don't need to explore any of that to get the valuable information that the book title promises - it's all right here between the covers. I also really appreciated his writing style - very conversational and to the point. It's a short book - only about 50 pages, and I usually hate short books because they skimp on information, but this one is jam packed, not only with instructions but real-world examples and case studies as well. I originally got this book by 'borrowing' it as an Amazon Prime member. But I liked it so much that I returned the borrowed copy and bought myself a copy at retail price, simply because the information was that valuable, and I wanted to support the author's work. Very well done!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just do it already March 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Just like all of this author's other work the content is 100% real-world with zero B.S.
The difference between Jim Kukral's advice in this book (Amazon guideline's keep rejecting my review when I type the actual title) and that of a dozen other writers who have churned out a couple quick pages on digital publishing advice and called it an ebook is that Kukral speaks from experience. He's not just capitalizing on the latest tech-trend flavor of the week.

Technology has finally caught up to Jim's brain and it's never been faster or more efficient for him to put his ideas into action (and profit from them!) Not satisfied to simply profit for himself, Kukral gives back by providing readers a peek behind the curtain and shows how the trick is done. This fast and informative read has Jim sharing examples of his own success, as well as those of others. Read this book with a notepad and pen in-hand so that you can make your to-do list as you go.

Spend an hour or two digesting this information and devising your plan to put the ideas into action and you will most definitely profit. Now stop reading the review and go BUY this ___ book already!

5.0 out of 5 stars great title, very eye catching!! January 23, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
im actually reading this book by jim kukral for the SECOND time! the first time i just read it through just to get the info. now i'm using it as a textbook-taking notes, implementing some of the ideas. its a VERY small book, so getting thru it shouldn't be a problem for anyone.
i highly recommend jim's books for any aspiring writer/storytellers. jim removes all fears about the perils of self-publishing..in fact, he even puts some of the best negative obstacles people have, and answers them for you!
he also gives great examples of others who have found success creating their own books. pick this one up if youre serious about self-publishing....

5.0 out of 5 stars A really good Book March 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I so enjoyed reading the book by Jim Kukral. What I was really impressed is that he taught in one of his books how to self publish an E book on Amazon. I took an E book that I owned and reformated the book and within a day had it published on Amazon. I really like what he says to have a self published book in addition to the E book. I think Jim is the real deal and when you write to him he responds in a very timely fashion back to you. I would very stongly recomend getting the book but more importantly don't just read. Do what he recommends. Like the saying goes. Nothing happens until something moves.
