Vital for those wishing to place their work in the UK.,
By Ned Middleton (British professional underwater photo-journalist & author) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER)
This review is from: Writers' & Artists' Yearbook (Paperback)
Within the UK, this book is a "must have" for all writers etc. The book, however, loses a star because of it's shortcomings.
Put simply, the book is not complete. I write magazine articles about scuba diving, shipwrecks and nature and several of our smaller publications are simply not listed within this book. It must, therefore, follow that several other niche market publications are also not included. Make no mistake, this is not only an excellent publication, it is also a vital tool for those who need to place their work. Quite often, however, those who are only just starting out on that road of disappointment and success, need to find those smaller publications which may not be included here. Perhaps the publishers might like to spend some time looking into the niche publication market in order to make the necessary improvements to this, otherwise, excellent work. On a final note, I found it curious that, according to Amazon, the author of the 2007 version of this book is Ian Rankin and the author of the 2006 version as Terry Pratchet - whereas, much of the content has always been copied from one year to the next. Very helpful for UK markets,

Comparable to the U.S. "Writer's Market." Wish it were available online, though.
For UK markets, NOT U.S.

A disaster,

I'm becoming disillusioned with interenet shopping. Didn't review the site carefully and bought this book. It turns out it is for an English market, practically useless to American writers. I don't understand why it is being sold here, but I am not claiming there was intentional deception
