2.0 out of 5 stars The (European) Writer's Handbook 2008, May 4, 2008
This review is from: The Writer's Handbook 2008 (Paperback)
I am disappointed with this book. I found the first chapter's guidance useful to the new writer, but found the bulk of information not specific to the American market. Many of the leads to publishers and literary agencies are based in the U.K. or Europe. What little there was covering the U.S. side of the pond was either lacking or not all inclusive. In fact, several of the potential leads of significant U.S. Publishers that I discovered on my own were in fact not cited in the Writer's Handbook 2008. Liberal Author's might like this book to feel like they are part of a greater society of literary writers, with it's plethora of European contacts that they can call upon and wait. However, for my hard earned money, I prefer the Chicago Manual of Style.
