This review is from: Writing Archaeology: Telling Stories About the Past (Paperback)
As a doctoral student in archaeology, I own hundreds of anthropological/archaeological books, none more valuable than Brian Fagan's "Writing Archaeology: Telling Stories About the Past". For years I have described my desire to share archaeology with a wider audience via popular writing to anyone and everyone who would listen - and was often met with the response: "How do you go about doing that?" My facetious answer was usually to quote Indiana Jones: "I don't know. I'm making this up as I go". With this concise book, Brian Fagan has provided a more useful, more practical, and thoroughly enjoyable answer. The publisher's book description above is remarkably accurate and I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in popular archaeological writing.

This small book has been valuable in helping me organize my writing. A good guide for those wishing to write about archaeology, whether a book or an article.
