This review is from: Writing the Fiction Synopsis: A Step by Step Approach (How-to Series (Memphis, Tenn.).) (Hardcover)
If you want to write a great synopsis - look at the back covers of novels, or the inside flaps of covers.
That's how the professionals write killer synopsis. They are intended to sell the book. Your synopsis is intended to sell your story. Write it like the pros do. Read the book covers you probably already have laying around your house! This book was only Okay.

For many writers, myself included, coming up with a synopsis for a novel seems unbearably difficult. Pam McCutcheon's instructional book helps remove both fear and confusion from the process. She claims to give a step by step approach, and she definitely delivers on her claim.
This book provides an excellent framework writers can use to understand what to put into a synopsis, what to leave out, and how to communicate the necessary points of a plot in a clear, enticing way. |
