Anne Trubek was born, improbably, in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. Her life has continued in similarly improbable veins, and includes stints in Madison, Wisconsin, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Cleveland, Ohio, her current home. When she is not writing about writers' houses, she is teaching at Oberlin College or writing for places like The New York Times, Mother Jones, GOOD and a host of other publications. She might also be found hiking with her son or watching the weeds cover the perennials in her garden.
