5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic way of learning how to publish!
I spotted it by chance at a Willey stand at ACS Meeting and I am so happy that I bought it. The book combines a manual and excercises - all written in easy way, with many examples and useful checklists. It can be read from cover to cover or randomly, because the chapters are nicely divided into sections. There is huge amount of useful tips - things that you didn't know or...

3.0 out of 5 stars Scientific writing
This book is written primarily for speakers of English as a second language. The advice is excellent, but too elementary for native English-speakng graduate students (the audience in my course). Thus, it provides some guidance, but could be improved for many graduate students in the USA by taking a deeper look at technical writing in the sciences.

The book combines a manual and excercises - all written in easy way, with many examples and useful checklists. It can be read from cover to cover or randomly, because the chapters are nicely divided into sections. There is huge amount of useful tips - things that you didn't know or maybe didn't realize that you knew - put in easy to remember phrases. The book covers all the important issues when preparing, writing and publishing a manuscript. Fantastic tool!

5.0 out of 5 stars Should be required reading, January 8, 2010

A very well written, easily read reference for scientific writers, especially early career researchers like myself. It left me wondering why these principles and information weren't better presented during my undergraduate training, especially considering how important scientifc writing is to the scientific process. An invaluable resource, I'd recommend it to any early career researcher who is beginning to write up their research.
