4.0 out of 5 stars My Daughter Is Learning Her Vocabulary, March 7, 2008

Before my daughter is allowed any screen time, she needs to go through the book and take the next five new words and do the flashcard/sentence routine. I know this is sort of not the intention of the book, but it's how I keep track of her progress. She also does the short exercises at the end of each chapter.

Every week or so, we discuss the words at the dinner table. Or maybe if she doesn't feel like doing new words, we'll just go through the flashcards and see how close she can get to 100% recall.

So far I've been very happy with how her vocabulary has been increasing and she's frequently telling me about how a word she picked up from the book came up in class and how she was able to use/definite it correctly.

My daughter is currently in 6th grade and we just ran out of index cards.
