The Writings on The Heart,
By Hayati Bice (Konya, TURKEY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Writing on the Water: Chronicles of a Seeker on the Islamic Sufi Path (Paperback)
This a an unbelievable story but it is real too... I know that all of the writings are authenic.Because all persons whom told by author are lived on earth or living today. For example Shaikh Nun is at U.S., N.Y. these days for meeting of spiritual leaders by U.N.(September 3-5, 2000-check please www.naqshbandi.org - news page-) Shaikh Ahmed is living in Konia at Turkey. I met him ten months ago. He was imam of Shams Tabrizi Mosque. Thanks Shakoor...Because I learned Shaikh Ahmed from your book :The Writings on the Water , turkish edition and I look for him and found at last after 2 years... I am a follower of Grandshaikh Abdullah Dagestani also. I am glad to learn his great spiritual guide for author Muhyiddin Shakoor. This persons are from Shakoor's book... Finally reality is this: The earth is very small and our lifes are very short on the our planet. But God's land - paradise - is very broad and our lifes are eternal in Paradise... The result of story is clear and exciting...Everybody -interested human being- must read this magnificent story absolutely and immediately.

A sublime account of a spiritual search,
By Philippe Waterinckx (Larkspur, Colorado United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Writing on the Water: Chronicles of a Seeker on the Islamic Sufi Path (Paperback)
The Writing on the Water is a sublime account of the simplicity, honesty, humility, faith and focus deployed by a man on his search to spiritual truth and wisdom. Shakoor writes in a simple and genuine style, with no attempt at convincing us that he got it right and that we should all do as he did. He simply did what he felt was right for him to do, and for me, that was the essential message. The book left me with a deep and lasting sense of humility and joy.

The Writing On The Water,
By Miss S Ammounah (Greenford, Middlesex United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Writing on the Water: Chronicles of a Seeker on the Islamic Sufi Path (Paperback)
I never thought I could be so moved by a book until I read The Writing On The Water by Muhyiddin Shakoor. It is a beautifully written piece of literature. I felt it was written from the heart and soul of the author. I very much resonated with his spiritual experiences and revelations, and found his description of his spiritual journey uplifting, joyous and refreshingly honest and candid. I simply loved it and would like to purchase many copies and give them as gifts to all my friends. It is unfortunate that this book is out of print at the present time. Perhaps this could be rectified in the very near future. I would also welcome a sequel and wonder if the author could be approached to do this. Thank you.
