Maity Schrecengost is an author and former classroom teacher now specializing in helping K-5 teachers teach elaboration and writing craft. She is the author of Research to Write, Researching Events, Researching People, Write to Read, and the children's fiction books Tasso of Tarpon Springs and Panther Girl.

This book is fabulous!! We just started "The Writer's Workshop" at our school. The 'Writing Whizardry' has helped me start and stay on track. It has an example lesson and extra resourse on the bottom of each page. If you're having difficulty finding fun ways to teach various writing activities, this is the book for you.

Whizard Whizardry is great for preraring mini lessons for any middle school writing class. The lessons are very teacher friendly and can be used and reused throughout the year to review writing craft. I would consider this book a must have for any writing teacher.
