3.0 out of 5 stars A How-to book on writing for the religious marketplace, March 11, 2008
This review is from: Writing religiously: A guide to writing nonfiction religious books (Hardcover)
I first read this book in the mid 1980's. When I was serving as Associate Pastor of Superior Avenue Baptist Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Don Aycock was a fellow pastor in the Washington parish Baptist Association. He was completing his Doctor of Theology degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary at that time. Don Aycock and Leonard Goss provide how-to assistance on writing and getting published. This book is very practical. It is easy to read. It provides common sense guidance for those whose writing is in the religious field.

It is more than a guide book of essential techniques. It is a fundamental guide and carefully worked reference book takes on the whole range of problematical questions in an inclusive look. It covers the challenge and the process, ideas, procedure, editors, material, the publishing contract, tools, and writing non-fiction material. Included is a sample style book for authors and publishers in the preparation of a manuscript.

The book is a full set of tools for beginners and established authors. This book shares the thrill of the religious book field on a close personal basis with the reader. This book has a nice reference section on proofreading and understanding editor's symbols.
