3.0 out of 5 stars Lincoln's Last Letters, September 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Writings of Abraham Lincoln - Volume 7: 1863-1865 (Kindle Edition)
I love history and I was excited to see Lincoln's letters available on Amazon for the Kindle, for free. The letters are both revealing and mundane. Lincoln was a compassionate man, often writing to his generals to stay an execution for desertion. There were also letters about visitors coming or going, or inquiries about battle plans. I know it was free, but I wish I could have had the ability to move from period to period rather than letter to letter. You must be willing to read the boring stuff to get to the interesting letters. A great man's thoughts gathered in a Kindle book that was free. Just not as interesting as a body of work, I recommend that someone edit them so we read by subject or by interest.
