For lovers of French history, fans of scholarly works, those who wish to see early feminism in action--Professor Field's book is a must read. Prof. Field does a wonderful job translating the ancient text, and providing the reader with the historical context necessary to engage the work. As a fan of history, but not necessarily all that familiar with medieval France and its particulars, Prof. Field did an excellent job making me appreciate Agnes of Harcourt and her contributions. I eagerly await his next book. I say, "Bravo!!" to Prof. Field and his work!
