Book Description

August 1, 2000
Two romantic comedies in one book! The Wrong Mr. Right: Take one miss trying to live up to her family's impossibly romantic, old-fashioned standards. Mix in one important event: the Vino and Amore Festival where she's supposed to meet her true love. Add one hunky Scotsman definitely not looking for love. Blend in one hilarious Italian family, a desperate situation, and a sizzling attraction that's got Marisa falling for The Wrong Mr. Right!

Never Say Never: Sheriff Zeke Thorne doesn't stand a chance! While he pursues the fortune-hunting fiancé of heiress Tish Seldon, she's pursuing him. A single unwise kiss from woman-shy Zeke has given Tish her first taste of passion and she wants more--if she can just get the stubborn sheriff to cooperate!

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Popular Writer Tina Wainscott "is back and in a big way" says Romantic Times, making her Duets debut. Sharing the spotlight is Barbara Daly, well-known for her wonderfully wacky tales.

From the Author

Tina Wainscott: Have you ever wanted something so badly, only to find out you didn't really want it after all? How about the other way around? We all have certain ideals we want to live up to, especially where family is concerned. We want to make them proud of our dreams and accomplishments. But sometimes their dreams and our dreams don't coincide. That's the problem my heroine, Marisa, faces in my first Harlequin. What she wants out of life would make most families proud: a college education and career. But when you come from a family that believes finding true love and fulfilling old family traditions should come first, ah, that's where it gets complicated.

When I finished writing this book, I wanted to be part of this wacky, close family (now don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with my slightly more normal version). But I had so much fun hanging out with the Cerinis, and throwing my hero, Barrie, into the middle of them, I didn't want to leave. I hope you feel the same. Because no matter what your plans are in life, you never know...what could happen to you.

Barbara Daly: I love New York, but Vermont has a special place in my heart. Ten months and two weeks of the year it's a spectacularly beautiful spot--even the Interstate is beautiful. What about the other six weeks? MUD SEASON, which is spectacularly awful. (Look for details in NEVER SAY NEVER!, Harlequin DUETS, August, 2000.) On the other hand, mud season is Vermont's only funny season. I felt compelled to give this particular love story a backdrop of vehicles trapped in seas of mud, a heroine in a muddy wedding dress, a hero in a muddy sheriff's uniform...

What? You're not laughing yet? Well, you will be soon, I hope. NEVER SAY NEVER!

More About the Author

WHERE AM I? I'm now writing under the name Jaime Rush for Avon Books. Check out my new series, where X-Files meets Lost! Why did I change? I changed publishers and went back to my paranormal romance roots, and it was a business decision to start fresh. If you like my earlier paranormal books, you'll like the Offspring series. Lots of suspense, action, the kind of damaged characters I love to write about, and sexiness. You can read sneak peeks at www.jaimerush.com.

If you'd like to buy one of my books, and have it signed, please email me through the Jaime site. My manager has a limited amount of Tina Wainscott books on hand. For ebook users, I am releasing my Tina titles on the Kindle under both Tina Wainscott and Jaime Rush. Out so far:
Unforgivable
What She Doesn't Know
Blindsight (formerly Now You See Me)
Until I Die Again (formerly On the Way to Heaven)

Tina's Bio: I read suspense thrillers because I like to be scared, and I write suspense thrillers because I like to scare people. Not-entrails-on-the-floor or hacked-up-body-parts-wrapped-prettily-in-a-package type books. More like not being able to trust anyone, not even people you think you can trust type books. Books about psychological manipulation and psychotic baddies who enjoy the torment even more than the actual kill. Being scared is fun. Just ask any roller coaster or horror flick fanatic. Heck, just watching the evening news can be terrifying.

Pick up one of my books, though, and I'll guarantee you one thing: in my world, the bad guy always gets his in the end. Or the head. Or wherever it turns out to be. We don't always get the luxury of justice in real life, but every time I write a book, I get justice for all those people who couldn't. And I get to meet interesting people who I then put through hell, all in the name of entertainment. That is what I call a sweet way to make a living.

My beliefs are God, a positive attitude, living life to the fullest, doing unselfish things on a regular basis, small indulgences, believing in yourself, appreciating what you have, and no regrets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Double your pleasure...., August 27, 2000
This review is from: The Wrong Mr. Right / Never Say Never! (Harlequin Duets, No 34) (Paperback)
The Wrong Mr. Right...I couldn't put it down! I was laying in bed, giggling so hard at the slapstick dialogue that is so true-to- life! It was so romantic, too. Barrie and Carissa remind me of Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks or Richard Gere and Julia Roberts! They were so believable and swept me away into their little wirlwind of romance. Kudos Miss Wainscott! :-) Never Say Never... Zeke, the ever popular sheriff who is afraid of doilies...too funny! Tish, the debuntante who is afraid of everyone until...I love the small town life, as I come from one and it is blended so well in this book where everybody knows your name...This is action packed, hilarious and the sensual undertones are great! This Duets is definitley worth the money and I have put it in my pile that I will read again. Both, Miss Wainscott and Miss Daly will knock your socks off and make you laugh at the same time!
