5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST OWN, October 29, 2000

Pat Haney's CD WRONG RITE OF PASSAGE is a must own for any collection. The lyrical content of this album will have you so involved that you won't know that the album is over until it stops spinning. With a voice that speaks of pain and too many cigarettes, Haney spills forth songs that will not necessarily have you dancing in the aisles but will have you thinking of things much deeper. So if you don't own the CD buy it now, you will not regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Pat Haney and Daylon Wear collaboration!, February 28, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Wrong Rite of Passage (Audio CD)
This is an honest work. Haney is gifted with a true simple "in your face" style. Open up the jacket and notice the collaboration with country artist Daylon Wear. The songs Draggin' Green River, Early Fall (which is a beautiful masterpiece), and Follow You are co-written with Daylon. Both of these artists are on the same label (Freefalls Entertainment), so it's no surprise that they ended up working together. I think these two artists should work together again. Haney's follow up album is great, but lacks the honesty that this record has. Pat Haney is a true talent and should be promoted more!!!

If you like John Prine, you'll love Pat Haney. Haney's album, "Wrong Rite of Passage" is a good mix of country bluegrass & soulful rock. Each song tells a good story. Before it's over the first time through, you'll be singing along, just like you've heard it a 100 times. It's a keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can you say classic?, July 5, 2002

That's right,he's that good. I coudn't help but feel that some day this disc's going to be considered a classic. Like someone else said,he's the real thing, and better than that, his peers regard him in very high esteem. He was asked to participate on Townes Van Zandt tribute disc with the cream of Texas songwriters for a reason. Exellent cd.

This guy, Jason Boland, Owen Temple, Roger Craeger all represent a fine crop of Texas-type music. Very good stuff.
