Former FBI Agent Ethan Ramsey works a Texas ranch and does some professional sleuthing on the side. He is visiting his brother Travis in Dallas to persuade his sibling to come home to help cheer up their recently separated sister. At a strip joint, Ethan notices the eyes of the star attraction shows she hates being there. The next day in a Fort Worth restaurant they see the stripper again. Travis hits on her, but she objects saying she is a schoolteacher. Ethan tells Serena Farrell that if she is not the person taking off her clothing at a club, she has a double. He gives her his card and offers to investigate.Serena, who has money problems, calls Ethan. He returns to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to begin investigating her double. Quickly, he learns the stripper is Sarah Welch, but she is in a cocoon of thugs working at the club. As Ethan discovers shocking information, he and Serena fall in love, but he wonders how a relationship will survive what he must reveal to his beloved. THE WRONG WOMAN is the right book for readers who delight in a warm romance that has family secrets coming to light. Ethan is the type of person everyone wants as a mate while Serena struggles with the collapse of her world as she has always known it. Ethan Ramsey is a former FBI agent who lives in a small Texas town with his father. He takes cases every once and a while when he gets bored. His sister is going threw a rough divorce and Ethan goes to Huston to try to convince their brother to come for a visit.
While in Houston Ethan and his brother go to a strip club. One of the performers has red hair and a scared look in her eye that catches Ethan's attention. The next morning Ethan and his brother go to a restaurant and Ethan spots a woman who looks exactly like the performer from the night before. He gives her his card and hopes she gets in touch even though she claims she isnt the woman from the night before. Serena Ferrel was not lying when she said she wasnt the woman stripping the night before. She is a teacher who lived a privileged life with her grandparents after the death of her parents the day she was born. When she brings up what Ethan told her her grandmother gets cagey and tells her to forget about it. Serena gets Ethan's card out and calls him to investigate the other woman. He goes to Houston to visit the night club, but the people get nervous when he starts asking questions. He does some digging though and finds out that the woman is Serena's twin Sarah Welsh. While doing the instigation Serena and Ethan try to fight the attraction that they feel. However they find themselves falling in love as they investigate the goings on and the connection between the boss of Ethan's brother and sister, the death of Sarah's cop boyfriend, and why Sarah was forced to strip.
