Editorial Reviews

Wu-Tang Saga is described as a documentary about the Wutang Clan including all members and concert footage. LAHHE got hands on a copy and it's not so much about the WuTang Clan since it's "Starring" Cappadonna (Consider All Poor People Acceptable, Don't Oppress Nor Neglect Anyone). As you view the promo, notice other members get "Also starring" credits, which should give you an indication of their involvement. It's only after about 20 minutes into it that you start to notice that no one else has had their black and white time in the chair against the white wall with the director and this is surely a Cappadonna affair (not that there's anything wrong with that, but know what you are buying). As far as cameos, for example, Slick Rick's appearance in the preview below is about the long and short of it, but I'll give it to him for the muscles. The concert stuff is from 2008's 8 Diagrams Tour and is...pretty good, especially if you haven't made it to a WuTang show in the last two years but mostly shot from stage right. Whether Cappa is your favorite member or not pick up a copy to hear what Cappadonna says about recording "Ice Cream," being the black sheep of the Wutang, President Obama, threatening Usher at a restaurant for a photo (he's REALLY into photos), and his favorite body of work among other things.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cappa Saga November 2, 2010
Do not be fooled by the title, as I was.

This is not a documentary about the Wu Tang Clan.
This is a poorly done documentary about Cappa Donna and his small, no-need-to-note role with The Wu.
(I personally have never considered him an actual member of The Wu Tang Clan and do not enjoy his style.)

Also, this DVD claims to "feature" all the true members of The Wu, which it turns out is basically a false claim as there are no actual interviews with the members, but rather just footage from old concerts (with pretty bad audio), photos from Cappa's personal photo album, and just references to the members in Cappa's stories.
(There is some sort of "interview" with Raekwon, however the audio is so bad I had no idea what questions he was even being asked.)

I couldn't even finish this DVD as I am so not interested in Cappa Donna or his story.
Not to mention that this DVD was just weak all around.

I would highly recommend purchasing the Wu Tang "Rock the Bells" DVD or "The Story of The Wu Tang Clan" instead of "Wu Tang Saga."

theres alot of good footage & info here..but If you're not a True Wu may get lost
its actually a Cappadonna documentary..he takes you on a journey through Cappa "ville"
lotz of good footage symbols signs & wisedome..typical Wu logic...onstage, offstage behind da scenes
with & w/o his brothers (wu-Tang) may oponion Iove it for its content..
but if your just a casual listener & cant name all the mc'z in the Wu....its not for you

3.0 out of 5 stars CappaDonna speaks January 3, 2013

Interesting documentary about CappaDonna. The interview segments he appears to be more himself than posturing for the camera which are fun moments. Nice interview with True Master about producing for Cappa. Though the audio is from the video camera mic, there are some concert clips from some solo and Wu-Tang shows that do a good job of capturing the energy at the show and more importantly, on stage. Def worth a pick-up at discount price.
