So, when i saw this product i loved it! but i knew that my 3 month old baby would hate the pacifier part. the only paci she ever takes is the NAM kind because they have bigger bulbs at the end for her to suck on. Also, other pacifiers are shaped too similarly to her milk bottles and she gets mad that milk doesn't come out of them. I also wasn't thrilled that you had to wash the paci with the toy. So being a crafty mom, i knew i could fix this so she would like it. I got it in the mail yesterday and as i predicted she just spit it out. so i took my seam ripper and got the pacifier off easily without hurting the toy. then i took one of the holders for the nam which come apart and there is a hole at the end where the tie for the clip goes through - it was the perfect size for the hole i had made. a few stitches and viola! popped the pacifier in the holder (i also like that it can spin around in the holder) and we were good to go. she had been crying for about 15 mins, i put it in her mouth, showed her how she could grab on to it and she was sleeping within minutes. she has fallen asleep with it 4 times since then. so, like i said - i loved the idea of this product but had to make it "work" for me. just an idea for some of you other crafty moms (or dads) out there ;)

As first time parents, we were not aware of the wonders of "the pacifier". After getting the soothie brand at the hospital, we decided to stick with those. Unfortunately though, the pacifier would constantly fall out of our baby's mouth, and as a new parent, there are a lot of things that one needs to do without sitting there replacing the pacifier every two minutes. Here is where the Wubbanub comes in...Since the doll holds the pacifier and it rests on the baby's chest, there is no more need to keep on putting the pacifier in the baby's mouth. The only con is that the pacifier cannot be removed from the doll, so it makes it difficult to get it as clean as I would like, but besides that, we love it and bought a few different kinds!

Update: We bought the princess and the doggy wubbanub. By far, we like the princess one more. Our daughter LOVES to now hold onto the silky part of the princess's dress. Also, it stays on her chest much better than the doggy one. The doggy one tends to slide off and then the pacifier falls out of her mouth. Just an FYI!

Update 2: Baby #2 has come, so we have bought more Wubs, as we fondly call them. This go around we used the princess (which we love), the yellow duck and the red dog. The red dog is like the previously mentioned one where it slides off her chest, but the yellow duck stays put. Plus, baby loves the bright yellow color.

We actually got two wubbanub's as gifts and ended up purchasing another because they are so great! All wubbanub animals aren't equal. The turtle is great for when your little one is lying/sitting fairly still since it can lay flat on their chest. We also have an elephant and a giraffe. We have the elephant in the crib since you can make it 'stand' for when she lies onber side, makeing it the perfect height (upside down worked best when very small). The giraffe as you would imagine has a long skinny neck so it flops around more. Great for when they can wrap their arms or hands around it to hold it in, but bad when they move their head alot as it tends to get flung or stuck under their head.

I received the princess and the doggie as a shower gift. When I initially saw them I thought it seemed like a great concept but it wasn't the type of pacifier I had used for my older daughter so I packed it up with the other "maybe's" I had gotten from the baby shower.
We came with our new baby girl from the hospital realizing that we only left there with ONE of the paci's that the hospital had used and as most know one paci just isn't goig to do it so I grabbed one of the paci's that I had intended on using for my daughter. The ones I had actually registered for and to my dismay she would not even CONSIDER it (I had probably 10 of the ones I thought I would use). So I started digging around in the "maybe box" and I soon learned that these are the same kind of paci that the hospital used so I broke these out and tried them.
My daughter didn't like them very much as a newborn because they're pretty big and it was easy for her to accidentally pull out the paci and they were bulky sitting on this tiny baby (tiny meaning almost 7.5lbs). Again, put them back on the "maybe" shelf and bought the plain pacifiers from the store.
When my daughter was around 2 1/2 months we tried these once again and YAY!! They're wonderful! She's learned how to hold onto it, play with it and chew on it. This little paci/toy entertains her for HOURS! We LOVE IT! So my advice to anyone who might try these and their babies not like them at first... give them another try once the baby gets a bit older. I don't think these are the best for newborns but work great once your baby starts better developing their motor skills.
Here is my final assessment:

1. Baby can hold it themselves and put the paci back in their mouth.
