Product Description

Wusthof 2piece mincing set includes an 8" mezzaluna and cutting bowl designed to the shape of the blade. The Mezzaluna is a staple of Italian kitchens, named after its shape Half-Moon this knife is used for cutting herbs and making pesto. The mezzaluna also makes cutting onions and celery a joy. The rocking action of the blade cuts much like the action of a cooks knife. Wusthof uses a special blend of German steel through out the whole length of the knife. Wusthof not only uses the best materials to make a fine knife, but it is also crucial that each blade is precisely tempered. This tempering allows the knife to hold its edge for an extremely long time. Mezzalunas also resemble the Alaskan Ulu knife

I have used Ulu knives for the past 15 years. I bought this as a gift for my wife after one of our boards finally fell apart. I have used the mincing knife for about two months now, and it works equally as well as our Ulu knife and has a very elegant appeal to it. The board is quality craftsmanship and shows no potential split areas or knot issues. I can chop all of the ingredients for chili powder in about five minutes (I will try and remember to put a picture up next time we make some :))

If you do a lot of herb mincing, onion dicing, any kind of fine work, I highly recommend this knife and board. Very high quality!!

good quality knife and wooden board, works very well together to mince herbs, garlic etc. as coarse or fine as you want it. Fast, easy, a joy to work with, very ergonomic, cleans up fast, no odor residue on board or knife, just rinse it and let dry on the air. It saves a lot of other gizmos and electricity for this purpose, and I suppose it will last a lifetime. Great product!

This is a great set. The knife is sharper than many mezzalunas and is well balanced. The cutting board is a perfect size and is not too heavy. The feet on the bottom of the board keep it from slipping. I like it so well I ordered 2 sets.

This Mezzaluna and cutting board set is one of the best gifts that you could ever give to a somebody who loves to cook. Yourself included!
The board has been made to fit the blade. The herbs can be easily chopped / cut with one hand. The handle actually is very comfortable to hold and the board will stay stable on its place during cutting. After use just simply rinse off and dry the board and the mezzaluna. Another great product made in Germany by Wuesthof. This is money that have been spend well.
I cannot count the sets that I have given to family and friends.

Had this for about a year,
I used to be frustrated with chopping small things, especially herbs and garlic. Now it's fun. I am still amazed at how well it works.. Knife is beautifully sharp, the wooden chopping board has just the right size depression to do the job. Substantial and lightweight enough not to be a bother to pull out. My only suggestion would be a permanent blade cover. I have kept the cardboard cover it came with, but it's getting ratty. I will cme up with something else soon.

For someone who is just learning knife skills,this set is essential. You can cut herbs like a pro. It is super sharp and cleans up with water. My college age daughter just came home and was helping me prepare a meal and she was so impressed how well this set worked. It does not take up much room but is big enough to prepare herbs for soup,salad,etc. I am so glad I purchased it as it is one of my favorite cooking tools. It is very well made- both the blade and the board.
