I live in SW Florida. Everything down here rusts, even the nails in the walls. I am gradually replacing all my aluminum bakeware with stainless steel and have also been looking for stainless steak knives, having already found several good stainless steel paring and carving knives. Amazon has a deal I couldn't refuse. $90 steak knives for only $29.99. I bought two sets and I couldn't be happier. It will take some time to get used to their slim shape and lighter weight, after using big clunky steakhouse-style wooden-handle knives for so many years. My husband might not be as enthusiastic as I am about the smaller knives but they are sharp and classy looking and they cut meat very well. I will keep a couple of clunky ones in a drawer just in case. Some people want fancy boxes to keep theirs in and these come in an aluminum box with riveted corners and a fancy clasp, but I don't keep my knives in boxes. No storage room. I have a lot of stainless steel German knives and I consider them to be the best. I have magnetized bars attached to the wall behind my stove and all my stainless knives are there, handy and nice-looking. These will complete my collection of nice-looking knives on that wall, handy where I can just reach up and grab them. You just can't beat the price, but if you don't like them you can return them. Amazon is the best place I have found to buy everything I need for my kitchen, bar none. I will give these two shiny aluminum boxes to my grandchildren for their treasures.

I have recently become a Wusthof addict! I can't seem to get enough of the Wusthof Classic line. I was thrilled when I saw this deal on the Amazon Friday only sales & without hesitation placed my order. I love the case these come with, the knives are very nice & very sharp. My husband and I both love this set of steak knives! A+++! Ok Amazon.... lets see some more Wusthof on the Friday only sales, I need to add to my Wusthof collection! :o)

I am usually wary of things coming in fancy boxes but these knives have turned out to be fantastic. I purchased them (without my wife knowing) for a special dinner I had for a couple friends. My wife didn't notice them until she sank the knife into her perfectly grilled rib eye. The knife went through it like butter. My guests were also impressed. This helped to temper the scolding I got after they left for going over my kitchen gadget allowance. As soon as they go on sale again in my gold box (which now seems to filled with too much jewelry) I'll purchase another 2 sets immediately.

The storage box is really a nice touch and it makes it possible to store these lovely knives in a way that should keep them good-looking and sharp for a long time.

Impressive as the box is for presentation (if giving this as a gift, be aware that the knives were wrapped separately from the box and you will probably want to set these in their slots before wrapping), the knives themselves were what bowled me over. The design is simplicity itself, and thus coordinates beautifully with contemorary or more traditional place settings. There is a satisfying heft and balance: too bad Wusthof does not (as far as I know) make flatware. And these do the job easily and efficiently. A good, sharp knife poses much less risk to plates than dull blades.

It is easy to see why Wusthof would warrant these knives for a lifetime; I'd bet that these are good for several lifetimes.

five, six or seven years ago, we bought two 4-knives boxes, and since then, they have been through a lot of use. And despite ample dishwasher washings, the Wusthof steak knives are holding extremely well and remain sharp. Over the years, we grown to appreciate their size -- not big, heavy, flashy and, dare I say, weapon-like, but rather elegant on the table and fitting in with our other tableware. A great knife for the money, and then some.

I purchased this product for a gift. I was looking for a substantial steak knife with weight, balance and size for everyday use. These knives did not meet my criteria. They were lightweight and insufficient.
