At $29.99, this is/was the best deal in all of Amazon's stores. Heck, even at $34.99 and $39.99 this is a killer deal. You won't find a better carving knife out there nor a deal like this one any time soon. (Just compare the price for the 8" carving knife in either the new Grand Prix II line or the Classic line, and keep in mind that this is the same knife except for the handle!)

The great deal is due to Wusthoff phasing out its Grand Prix line in favor of its new Grand Prix II line. And again, no difference except for the handles. (Frankly, I like the original Grand Prix handle better.)

This was a perfect addition to my set. Wusthof knives have been an excellent purchase for our daily use. We use the cutting board almost daily, great size for daily tasks.

I bought this set after I bought the Wusthof 7 pc block set and I have to say I love them. I replaced a cheap set I had gotten as a wedding present years ago and couldn't believe the difference. The Wusthof made my old set seem like plastic wear. Now I slice right through food instead of sawing through it. I wasn't sure if they would be worth the higher price but they definately are.
