It does a very good job of sharpening my knives when I'm prepping or carving. I needed something that was handy and efficient. It sets up well with good balance and does the job better than most of my former sharpeners. A nice edge on the blade with a minimum of effort. If one looking for a quick and excellent sharpening device this is an excellent choice

I already had a Wusthof that was just for knives. I'm terrible to my scissors, so I wanted one that would sharpen those, too. This tool does not disappoint.

This Wusthof sharpner was bought because of set of knives from same brand. If you are not sure about how to sharpen knives or scissor this is perfect.

This is a good product for keeping your knives sharp, but if they are dull, you may want to invest in an electric knife sharpener or get them sharpened professionally.

I use this sharpener to keep my Wusthof knives sharp after use. It does a great job. You don't have to use excessive pressure, just light contact and keep the knife at 90 degrees. It has worked really well for me. I have not yet used stage one. If you just run your knives over stage two a few times after use, you will not need stage one at all.

The stones on the "coarse" side wear quickly. By the sixth steak knife, there were already "shelves" worn into the stones, meaning that after the first half hour of use, I already needed to reposition the stones. I bought this sharpener for myself, and a similar one (the Wusthof Asian Edge Sharpener) for my brother. His actually dulled the edge on his favorite knife. We're both back to the tried and true whetstone.

This sharpener wore out after the first couple of uses (yes I have rotated the diamond coated coarse blocks). You may be able to get more life from it by replacing the blocks. Don't expect this sharpener to continue to sharpen your knifes after the first few months of use.

My knives aren't that great to begin with - I have to keep sharpening
them in between each use. But I would recommend this sharpener.
Beats having to purchase an entire new knife set.
Improves on the ones you do have.
