Product Description

Safe and easy to use, this two-stage knife sharpener requires nothing but a few easy strokes to keep blades sharp. Its V-shaped cutting head with two crossed carbide blades puts a quick edge on knives. Simply place the gadget on a flat work surface and hold the E-Z grip handle with one hand and the knife handle with the other. Insert the knife blade fully into the slot at a 90-degree angle to the sharpener and pull back a few times to sharpen. After setting the knife's edge with the carbide side, use the unit's ceramic side to nicely finish the edge. The two-stage knife sharpener measures 9 by 3 by 1-1/2-inches.

My knives are now razor sharp- just like new!

Start with the coarse slot and finish with the fine slot, a few strokes in each.

Easy to use and work great on my very dull knives.

This kitchen knife sharpener exceeded my expectations. I have a set of german kitchen knives that I purchased in 1999. I have used them all these years and even the supplied honing stick was not really helping keep an edge on them. I figured it was time to buy a new knife set, but I decided to try this sharpener out first. My knives are now razor sharp- just like new! I simply pulled the blades through the course groove several times and then honed them in with the fine groove. I actually had a pile of metal shavings on the counter because my knives were so dull. I can cut a tomato again without squishing it or having to pierce it first with the point. No special skill required to use this sharpener and get a razor edge.

This sharpener does a good job and, while not the over $300 professional quality, it is excellent for the everyday chef. Great price and did very well with my knives in developing a nice edge. Use the fine section of the sharpener for keeping your knives very sharp. Rarely will you use the coarse part. It's not necessary unless you cut concrete!

Great price for how well it works. If you don't have practice using a steel, then this is a great alternative. Like other reviews, use the fine slot for every day honing. You should check your knife before every use. It doesn't take long and you'll keep it sharper longer. You shouldn't use a knife that isn't sharp. It isn't safe. The sharpener doesn't put a professional edge on your knife, but it does put a consistently even one. This helps the edge last longer. The handle is comfortable and the bottom is made from silicon/rubber that keeps it from sliding. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I would prefer the angle of the sharpening slot to be at a full 90 degrees. It doesn't take any getting used to, however. That's just my preference.

When we first got our Wusthof knives, I could slice paper with them; but after several years of use, not so much. This well made little kitchen gadget changed all of that. By the time I had finished with this little gem, every knife in our block would slice paper again. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

The knife sharpener works as described and does it easily. Initially used the coarse V and then changed to the fine V. Knives were very sharp after 5-6 strokes in each side.

This was chosen because of other reviews. I agree with the determination that this is a fine product. I immediately sharpened an older and dull butcher knife. It required about 10 draws through the course and 4 through the fine to put an extremely sharp edge on the knife. Great results for a good price!

My wife has a habit of trying to cut through the plates, table, boards & anything else unlucky enough to be under the knife. Needless to say I need a sharpener that will keep up with this abuse full time. I found it in the Wusthof 2 edge. Once you shape the knife edge to the sharpener, (always needed on the first use) It seems to be able to repair damage in a hurry. The coarse side shapes and sharpens with little pressure while the fine side will hone the edge sharper than usually needed. The unit is comfortable to handle and most of all it is steady on it's feet. Personally I would like to see a bit more clearance so the blade is less likely to strike the case on the back cut, other than that this item is well worth the cost and by the way, a great prepper item. Works very well without power!

I love Wusthof products and have many very high quality knives made by them. My previous sharpener was made by J. A. Henkels that I bought in Germany. It however, is a single stage sharpener but it is very, very good. I have never had a problem with it. However, this new Wusthof sharpener has one major problem. The top of one of the ceramic rods is clearly visible and it one does not take care, you will draw the knife across the top instead of the sides. This will result in a very dull knife and require significant extra work to make it sharp again. It sharpens satisfactorily but cannot be used without really watching what you do.
