This DVD feature film stars Erika Christensen, Chris Masterson, Katherine Heigl, Mike Vogel with songs by Jim Steinman.
With MTV and Emily Bronte in the credits of this television movie, one's expectations are automatically set at a realistic level. This is a teen-angst version of Bronte's star-crossed novel, with lots of cute young people and heavy breathing. Luscious Erika Christensen plays Cathy, who grows up alongside the rough, passionate Heath (Mike Vogel), a lost boy who wants only to play his kind of rock & roll. The fates, of course, will not allow their true love to blossom, although they allow quite a few of his songs to get on the soundtrack. Some genuinely spectacular seaside locations (in Puerto Rico) form the backdrop for the creaking dialogue and Jim Steinman's typically melodramatic music. It's pretty grisly unless you're 14 years old and cherish "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Cultural note: Aimee Osbourne, the Ozzy daughter who opted out of the Osbournes series, takes a small role. --Robert Horton
I love this version, watched it over and over again when it first came out on MTV..Published 8 months ago by catherine gonzalez
Lame storyline, but I loved the scenery. It was filmed in Cabo Rojo, PR. The lighthouse, the limestone caves, the sea and the sky, simply magnificent. Other than that, a downer.Published 13 months ago by Kira

I felt like it was a waste of time. I remember when this movie was so popular on MTV, so I was excited to watch it.Published 17 months ago by Keisha C.
THIS WAS A EFFORT TO TAKE A CLASSIC AND REMAKE IT TO MODERN TIMES, GOOD TRY, BUT IT LACKS WHAT THE ORIGINAL WAS TRING TO SAYPublished 19 months ago by Rudolph J. Antalek
Now, almost 10 years later, this movie is just okay. The main male character is kind of (okay he is) psycho. I would love to return it, but It was just 5 bucks.Published 19 months ago by Kyra
I could barely watch this movie. The only reason I finished it is because I spent money on it. Parts of the movie don't even make sense, the acting is not good and the original... Read morePublished 21 months ago by misserica06
This is a good movie! I don't know why a lot of people are saying it's not that great; yes, it's an MTV movie, so it's geared for teenagers, but it's still enjoyable. Read morePublished 21 months ago by hoosier_girl
