5.0 out of 5 stars A great selection of songs...all on one CD!
I know some people think this CD is stupid because most of the songs have been released. True...but hey, its still a really good selection and it keeps me from having to switch CDs. The only thing that gets me is the fact that DX and Jericho`s themes aren`t the remix versions. And sure, there are still some themes missing[like Edge`s theme]...but I think some of that has...

2.0 out of 5 stars "Greatest" Hits?, December 23, 2007
This review is from: Wwe: Raw Greatest Hits the Music (Audio CD)
With fifteen years of Raw, a record-setting broadcast program, you might expect a decent amount of diversity. Not so in the case of WWE Raw's Greatest Hits, the newest WWE music CD.

In most cases, selection of a "Greatest Hits" package is fairly objective. What sold? What sold really well? Bands often compile their greatest commercial successes. With a compilation along these lines, it's not so cut and dry.

However, this CD's focus seems incredibly narrow, focusing on the "Attitude Era" and themes you could have all picked off one or two CDs, and current wrestlers. Often times, these groupings are one and the same. While several of the themes are appealing, they are not what I would call a spectacular compilation, or worth retail price.

It's unarguable that performers like The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin are the biggest commercial successes in the business, so it's easy to see why they're on here. Others were still quite popular, like Mick Foley (In all his multiple personality glory), Shawn Michaels, and Triple H. However, on a track list of this size, when we see redundancy, such as the themes for two members of Evolution plus the Evolution theme, it kind of limits the appeal of the overall track list. Further, included are themes which were almost never aired on Raw. with 15 years of broadcasting, there is no shortage of popular wrestling entrances available.

And as far as "Hits" go, the track listing is fairly questionable, opting for recent versions of themes instead of the ones that were actually the biggest. As with all wrestling theme CDs, 17 tracks looks a lot longer than it is. Don't expect a 60 minute disc off of these.

Several of these tracks are entertaining, and Ken Kennedy's theme is probably appealing to wrestling fans who want one of the better quality new themes on Raw, but this CD has poor value in terms of new content, and serves as a poor representation of "the hits." Add a star if you really want the Rock's theme or Steve Austin's, but the collection is average at best, and fairly mediocre to most.

1.0 out of 5 stars Greates Hits . . . Only for Newcomers, January 10, 2008
This review is from: Wwe: Raw Greatest Hits the Music (Audio CD)
If your new to wwe and you like the themes it's a pretty ok mix of all current themes.
However, if your like me, a fan, and you own every single wwe cd out there, don't bother! Unless you really, really need Kennedy's and Melina's theme.
The main reason I'm disappointed is that I am missing one song. the one song that even I had bought this album for and that has (to my knowledge) not been on any other cd: Jeff Hardy's theme !!!
I'm not his biggest fan, but that they keep this song from being released is a mystery to me.
So like I said:
If you're new to WWE, you like the music, buy it!
If you own the other cds, don't!
And to WWE: Please have 2extreme on your next release!

I know some people think this CD is stupid because most of the songs have been released. True...but hey, its still a really good selection and it keeps me from having to switch CDs. The only thing that gets me is the fact that DX and Jericho`s themes aren`t the remix versions. And sure, there are still some themes missing[like Edge`s theme]...but I think some of that has to do with copyright issues and stuff. Still great though. I`m really happy to see Mr.Kennedy`s theme and Undertaker`s current theme on this album. Those two rock . One big reason why I wrote this review was to tell everyone...get this at walmart! It comes with two exclusive tracks...Randy Orton & Shane McMahon`s theme. Its funny, cause the first thing that came to my head was "where is Shane`s theme?". I found out right after I bought this CD that walmart had two exclusive tracks...so I had to go to walmart and buy it again. Hey,it was worth it lol. Overall I give this CD my highest rating[ten stars]. But like I said, get it at walmart for the two tracks...go home, pop it in the player, kick back and enjoy the greatest themes from Raw.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay...Room 4 Lots More, January 3, 2008
This review is from: Wwe: Raw Greatest Hits the Music (Audio CD)
What we have here is the latest musical release from WWE, Raw Greatest Hits, celebrating RAW's 15th Anniversary. Surprisingly, there're only 17 entrance themes considering the number of wrestlers that contributed to RAW's 15 years of fame (many of whom either quit, were fired during the steroid controversy, or jumped ship and moved to TNA...so there's no question why this wasn't a triple album box set like the WWE Anthology).

My favorites are: John Cena(The Time Is Now), Triple H(The Game), Undertaker (Rest In Peace), Batista (I Walk Alone), and Kane( Slow Chemical)

The remaining tracks are good but they've been done(with the exception of the Mr. Kennedy and Melina themes) a million times on a million other WWE album releases. Also, one may note that the sound quality on this release is lacking in comparison to that of the older releases, and some songs sounds slightly abridged. Long story short, the album is too short and too familiar. I strongly recommend the previous releases to this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Missing 2 tracks!!, February 8, 2011
By
This review is from: Wwe: Raw Greatest Hits the Music (Audio CD)
Two tracks are missing from the cd, and the mp3 album. They are "Burn In My Light" (Randy Orton) by Mercy Drive.. and, in my opinion, one of the best theme songs of all time "Here Comes The Money" (Shane McMahon) by Naughty By Nature. These two tracks were supposed to be exclusive to the cd's sold through Walmart. I just checked Walmart.com and the tracks are no longer included. Unfortunately, Shane O Mac's theme was produced by WWE, so it's not available on any Naughty By Nature cd's or mp3's either. It can be found on WWE Anthology 3 disc set, but still not available for download.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of good themes, January 21, 2009
This review is from: Wwe: Raw Greatest Hits the Music (Audio CD)
I spotted this in my local CD store for like 10 bucks so I decided to buy it. I've always been a fan of the superstars' entrance themes so to have some of them on CD excited me.

Why yes, I'm a recent WWE fan (as of January 2007 actually, but trust me, I'm a fanatic, with 59 DVDs to my name), so I don't own any of the other CD releases made by the WWE over the years. So this CD was a good buy for me personally, hence the high rating.

I like most of the themes offered here, but among the best are:

"Rest In Peace" (Undertaker) - Taker's entrance is probably my all time favourite, and the music that plays when he comes out is just epic so to have it on CD excited me to no end. I adore this instrumental track, it's haunting and just atmospheric. I love it.

"The Time Is Now" (John Cena) - John is one of the only superstars these days who sing (well, rap actually) their own theme song. And I love it! John is my favourite wrestler, and his theme is really catchy and fun to sing along to. One of my favourites.

"The Game" (Triple H) - I'm not a huge fan of rock music but I really love HHH's theme, sung by Motorhead. It's really catchy for a rock track and it fits HHH perfectly. Awesome.

"Slow Chemical" (Kane) - Why did Kane change his theme song?! This is an AWESOME song, probably my favourite non instrumental track on the CD. Finger Eleven did an excellent job with this song, I love it. I love the intro that you didn't hear when Kane used it as his theme. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

"I Walk Alone" (Batista) - Yet another brilliant rock song, performed by Saliva. This fits Batista really well, and the lyrics are really creative and interesting ("this television has a poison on it's breath"). I love this track.

"Are You Ready?" (DX) - One of the WWE's in-house productions, this is just awesome. I never realised till I listened to this how cool DX's theme song is, it's the epitome of DX, with their 'breaking the rules' attitude. Really catchy and I find myself listening to it over and over.

"Break The Walls Down" (Chris Jericho) - Another in-house production, this is awesome. It fits Chris well, and it's really catchy to boot.

"Time To Rock & Roll" (Trish Stratus) - One of the best diva themes, this is sung by Lil Kim, and it's accompanied by Trish laughing throughout it. It fit her well and it's got really cool lyrics.

"No Chance In Hell" (Vince McMahon) - Another in-house production, this is the epitome of Mr McMahon, with the shouty lyrics. It's a really short song though, at only 1:59.

"If You Smell" (The Rock) - I was never a huge Rock fan, but his theme music is really cool. It has no lyrics, but it's strangely compelling for some reason. I like it.

Most of the tracks on here are really good, but I don't like some of them. I have a problem with Shawn Michaels' theme - I'm a huge HBK fan and I LOVE "Sexy Boy" but the version on here is looped, it has a 3:22 running time but that's the song repeated three times. It would have been better if it had only run once - it would have made the song about a minute long, but it would have been way better that way. The loop ruins the track for me.

Overall, this is a really cool CD with loads of awesome themes. If you're a new WWE fan or just don't own any of the previous CD releases, get this. 4 stars.

I've bought this for my gf since she likes WWF so much and she loved it. As a comparison I can say this CD has it similarly to a movie soundtracks CD; and if you're a fan of that movie (or WWF) you just have to get it!

1.0 out of 5 stars not worth it, March 25, 2008

All of the songs can be found on other WWE/WWF CD's. WWE Anthology is better than this since its 3 CD's with a lot of great theme's.
