One broke the first time we we used it.
Lynn Carlson
The stripping feature was first to fail, because an internal mechanism no longer would push the cork from the screw requiring a manual removal.
viner
The suction doesn't work well, you have to reposition a few times before use!

I was skeptical about purchasing this product based on the reviews I read, but the product looked similar to one I had used at my son's home while babysitting so I bought it hoping it would be close in quality. This product exceeded my expectations. It has metal components (not plastic),a great suction cup on the bottom, a soft rubbery coating over all, and best of all it works like a dream. I would highly recommend it.

I decided to try the Wyndam House Table top opener over my preferred brand, Oenpull and wish I didn't switch. I switched because a part broke in the Oenpull that made it unusable only after having it for 2 yrs. The Wyndam handle part is not high quality steel like the Oenpull and the grasp part works poorly when attempting to remove the cork- this was not a problem with the Oenpull. Wax corks are a greater challenge to remove vs. the Oenpull.

The suction stand works good but for large bottles, you can't use it because the adjustable bar is still not tall enough to place on the stand- one must remove it from the stand to open a large bottle.

I would recommend the Oenpull over this brand.

It stinks.. It doesn't work at all...it looks like it has been tampered with. Another product I have purchased elsewhere (ie "The Goose") works great. I would like my money back. It doesn't work at all!!

this is just a wonderful addition to our love of wines. We are considering purchasing another one for a gift for a friend. Easy to use and less problems with cork removal.

We purchased this wine opener right before Thanksgiving, 2011, and it broke before Valentine's Day, 2012. The metal bracket that connects the cork screw to the gear device simply snapped in the course of opening a bottle of wine. We are very disappointed with this product and wish we had not wasted our money on it. We strongly advise *not* buying this product.

I looked similar ones that were more elaborate and expensive. We have owned this opener for over three years and it works great. This product is quite substantial, seems to be quality material. It has a great suction cup on the bottom, a soft rubbery coating over all, and best of all it works like a dream. If you have sufficent counter space I would highly recommend it.

I received the wine opener is a timely fashion. Upon opening it I found that the suction feature would not adhere to any surface that I tried. I returned the product, and to their credit, was refunded my money. I would not recommend the opener to anyone for any reason.

This item was a gift. It was fun at first because a two pump motion would lift the cork from the bottle and then strip it from the screw. The stripping feature was first to fail, because an internal mechanism no longer would push the cork from the screw requiring a manual removal. No fix was envisioned for this. I continued to use the cork extraction portion of the opener and then manual cork removal until the spline shaft pulled out of the cork screw insertion member at the top. This failure made it useless for inserting/screwing the cork screw into the cork. If the company would send a replacement mechanism I would mount it in the stand and continue this evaluation.
